Château Vieux Gachet

Château Vieux Cardinal Lafaurie

Lalande de Pomerol Merlot Blend 2010

This one is simply incredible. For 2010 amazingly developed, the cab franc is what makes the flavor profile at this point in time. — 11 years ago

Vieux Mas des Papes

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2003

2003- Don't be afraid of the vintage :) 80 Grenache knit beautifully w/ 20 Mourvedre. This was the precursor to VT's "Telegramme" bottling. Dark fruit & pronounced black pepper w/ a secondary savory/umami note. — 12 years ago

I need to drink more Rhone stuff. Starter suggestions?

Guigal makes well priced wines which show off the various appellations well. St Cosme too. Any Kermit Lynch imports. The Perrin family. In the Northern Rhone, Crozes-Hermitage & St Joseph are good appellations to start with as you can find great wines which are well priced. In the South, Cotes du Rhone & the various villages, Vacqueyras, Lirac, Corbieres, Ventoux. Gigondas will show more structured wines in the South.

Eventually work your way to Cote Rotie, CDP & Hermitage & weep for your wallet. :)
