Château Rocher Figeac

Château Rocher-Calon

Montagne-Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Inky violet red. Green pepper is less prominent and the body is juicier and fruitier than other cheap Bordeaux I've had. Oak age defines this: the tannins are big but silked out considerably, and the aroma and finish are decidedly that pruney oak deal. Part of me likes the sharp raw green pepper thing, but this is much more drinkable. This is a buy-again winner. — 11 years ago

Deep and grapey. Smooth and dry. 20 bucks from Costco. A deal. Even better with air time — 11 years ago

Les Roches de Yon-Figeac

Saint Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Needed an hour to open up, but was worth the wait. Great mouth feel, well balanced, will only get better — 11 years ago

Le Rocher des Violettes (Xavier Weisskopf)

Touraine Cabernet Franc 2012

This bottle is really pushing the saturation question but remains really focused and expressive. Restrained aromas, full textural. - unfiltered palate. It is top notch Cab Franc in its bass notes. — 11 years ago
