Château Les Charmes Godard

Domaine Henri Boillot

Les Charmes Meursault 1er Cru Chardonnay 2014

Overly cold unfortunately which mutes much of the flavour you would expect from this 1er Cru from the excellent 2014 vintage for white burgundy made by the baby faced assassin Henri Boillot. I might add to this note once it has warmed up. Very lemony. — 8 months ago

Les Charmes Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2008

First night was primary, young, loads of red fruit, lots of fun. Third night was intensely fragrant, deeper red fruit, earthy, complex. Maybe from now on I will decant these for three days before drinking. 2008 vintage. — 3 years ago

Truly well done in a modern style. Not our thing but this as a good bottle and we enjoyed it. Very dark robe, extracted, bold, but not overdone.

Domaine Dujac

Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2013

Intoxicating nose that can be smelled across the room and one that is quintessential Dujac. It’s juicy with dark fruit and whole bunch spice and there is a surprising level of ripeness and concentration for the vintage. It’s finely detailed and delineated with a silky texture, big structure and excellent length. Open for business. — 3 years ago

Les Charmes Morgon Gamay 2017

Smoky minerals, black cherry, orange peel, violets, spice cake, licorice- just a few notes. There’s a lot going on here and it’s intensely satisfying. Grainy tannins, very lengthy finish. Just a superb young Morgon with effortless style and composure whose best years are still well ahead. — 5 years ago

Morgon Côte Du Py Gamay 2018

On the nose- darker red fruits, a little closed off. Really opens up on palate, lighter than expected from nose, chalky texture, more fresh and lifted with the acidity... fruit driven with chalk/dusty backbone. Not overly complex but has many interesting layers. — 3 years ago
