Excellent second label from Château Fonplegade! Earthly, plum, spice, with licorice, coffee, tea, and tobacco notes.... I love how this wine is intense but still fairly elegant. The tannins are perfect enough to still be velvety on the palate while still delivering a nice long finish. This is the wine that brings me back to St. Emilion walking the cobblestone streets and the magnificent view from Château du Roy. Oh how I miss France...... Santè! — 8 years ago

One of the 3 second wines of 5th growth Haut Bages Liberal. Even better than the last time - typical Pauillac barnyard notes. 92 — 9 years ago

Golden raisins, boytaris funk, dried pineapple. On the lighter side for Sauternes, but super enjoyable. Tropical and candied lemon. — 8 years ago

With evident qualities, but ultimately not quite my cup of tea, even though I have enjoyed previous bottles of St Peray. — 9 years ago
Complexe, belle acidité et longueur. Me fait penser au chardo des pervenches mais en plus intense — 10 years ago
Lightly flor aged nose (touch of nuttiness), very broad palate with stone fruits intertwined with a touch of flor aged notes, great balance — 10 years ago

Subtle blackberry nose with strong fumes. Complex mineral blend. Jelly-like texture. Dates and prunes stick out after opening up. Lemon peel after-taste. Amazing quality/price. — 10 years ago
Inky violet red. Green pepper is less prominent and the body is juicier and fruitier than other cheap Bordeaux I've had. Oak age defines this: the tannins are big but silked out considerably, and the aroma and finish are decidedly that pruney oak deal. Part of me likes the sharp raw green pepper thing, but this is much more drinkable. This is a buy-again winner. — 10 years ago
