Château Roûmieu-Lacoste

Cuvée Léon Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend

Nice dessert wine. Sauternes after a great dinner of grouper, saffron rice and summer salad, wonderful pairing. Carmel bouquet, with thick long lasting legs. Peach and rose petal notes. — 7 years ago

Ramey Wine Cellars

Jericho Canyon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

The wine of the night! Head to head with five other high end 2005 Cabernet Sauvignons! Absolutely beautiful expression of CS. Went with everything we ate and was the clear winner in a blind tasting with Chateau Montelena, Robert Mondavi Oakville (finished second), Regusci Angelo's Vineyard, Beringer Private Reserve, and Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste. Not too often that a group can taste this many wines blind and choose a clear winner! Way to go David Ramey, again!! — 8 years ago

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée des Jeunes Filles Red Rhone Blend 2004

This is what French wine is all about - 2004 hand carried back from France; pouring into decanter, a reddish-brown golden caramel color sweet to the nose; after 20 mins it returned to a deep ruby red ; subtle, with hints of fruit - cherry, strawberry, cocoa dust and chalk - slight tannins - could go another 10 but delicious now. — 5 years ago

Château Lynch-Bages

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1988

Classic lunch bags and just a stellar treat in a crowded sea of Napa cab. My fave 5th growth by a long shot but Pontet Canet and Grand Puy Lacoste aren't far behind. The Lynch seems to shine for me regardless of vintage. — 7 years ago

La Croix de Beaucaillou

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

The Bordeaux I've had over the last six months has, I must admit, left me sceptical as to why Bordeaux is so brilliant. With the exceptions of Chateau La Cardonne 2003 and Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste 2001, much of the Bordeaux I've had has left me disappointed. This bottle however reaffirmed to me the beauty of the region. Just an astonishingly good wine - 2005 of course being an excellent vintage - whose only let-down lay in my not opening the bottle a few years later; the wine would definitely benefit from a good five to ten years' more age, to soften the tannins and allow a longer finish. I am however being fussy. It was fantastic. — 11 years ago

Chateau Lacoste-Garzac

Bordeaux Contrôlée Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

This is not only the best Bordeaux I've come across in this price range of around $10, but one of the best wines at that price point from anywhere. Wonderfully balanced in every way excellent fruit and wood. It's a fantastic quaffer and plays well with food which tonight was lasagna. — 7 years ago

Premium La Coste

Red Table Wine 2006

Mom and Dad bought this 2006 wine in 2009 (for $60 euros) from the Lacoste winery Bouches du Rhone region when they came to visit me. We just opened it (2014), afraid it might have sat too long, but it hadn't. It was unbelievable. Smooth, earthy, peppery, light but full; the mineral notes transported me back. The kind if wine I will dream about until I go back someday. — 10 years ago
