We went camping close to Los Olivos, CA ⛺️. But the goal was also to visit Union Sacre in Paso Robles on our way to Big Sur. And lucky for us we tasted with a Frenchmen XAVIER ARNAUDIN the winemaker all by ourselves. This guy is a lot of fun! All his whites were excellent and this Riesling is a standout! 20$. Rich 12.4% plenty of acid for balance. Quite herbaceous, tart and salty you almost taste the Santa Barbara sea breeze coming through. Honey melon Meyer lemon hint of mandarine waxy. Some Pro? gave this a 8.5 I cannot agree. For a Cali Riesling this is unique and better than most Tautomers. Highly recommended I will buy more and left with a case of whites when I left the tasting room - a winemaker to watch! — 5 years ago

Big & Bold with the characteristics of Cab Sauv and Syrah in a perfect union. Light oak, smooth finish. Went fantastic with both a ribeye and a seafood pesto pasta dish. — 10 years ago
One of the top IPA's brewed in the USA, Firestone Walker Brewing Company, Paso Robles CA, also my favorite wine region, not to be missed,Outstanding! — 12 years ago
Chasing my chaotic self-administered pandemic hair chopping with a Gewurtz from Arroyo Seco which seems to me apropos as I imagine the region as wind-swept and tousled. This wine is not so much and that is a good thing. All is in harmony. There is just the right amount of everything and it hits you in order—the lychees are followed by a green lawn leading to the flower garden full of roses and gardenias all spirited along by a nice amount of acid and powered by a prickling tannin. I’m not normally the biggest Gewurtz fan but I’d reach for this a second time. I’d maybe even pair it with a “hard to pair” thing like artichoke. Something about the floral nature of both I think could line up. Is that crazy? Maybe. But this is coming from someone who just used her kitchen scissors to give herself an intentionally asymmetrical haircut. — 5 years ago
Union sq wines $100. Amazing light pinot. Ordered 3 bottles of 2013 from arlington wines in Poughkeepsie $89 per. — 6 years ago
strawberry and sweet honeysuckle nose, light on the palate, smooth but a good amount of acid. very drinkable alone. — 7 years ago
Lite, bright fruit aromas. Low acidity with notes of Pear and Apple skin. — 8 years ago
Aroma of Keffir Lime, Guava, Figs, Leather, and fresh-roasted Habanero pepper. Smooth tannins, long finish. Benefits fabulously from the wild yeast fermentation in articulating the essence of the Gill Creek Ranch vineyard, Clements Hills sub-AVA OF Lodi. Totally unlike any other Merlot anywhere in its union of vigor together with complexity. Great with roasted pork shoulder, cilantro, chanterelles, and truffles on top of spicy garlic noodles. — 10 years ago
2017 vintage. @Delectable Wine this is the Union Sacre La Passion de Legionnaire Merlot. Lots of finesse and freshness. Raspberry, red plum, blackberry, tart cherry, pomegranate, a bit of a red floral thing, new oak-inflected vanilla, mocha, and coconut notes. Great texture, definitely lends that Santa Ynez coastal elegance and texture. — 5 years ago
Blackberries, strawberries, black cherry, tobacco on the nose. Blackberries, black cherries — lots of fruit. Soft tannins, medium to high acidity. — 5 years ago
Excellent bold tangy taste with slight hint of time in oak — 6 years ago
VA red wines really are some of the best — 8 years ago
My first retsina, so opinion could be biased. Very nice retsina in nose, surprisingly, the taste was very similar, liked it a lot. — 9 years ago

In this case, actually, the offspring that this wine mimics is the Union of petite sirah & zinfindel. Thick spicy tangy and powerfully cleansing… Yet without being jagged and overly assertive. Delicious! Medium + weight with a long finish. So good it was even simply sippable — 3 years ago
