Rabbit Ranch

Central Otago Pinot Noir 2021

Pale ruby in color; cherries, hibiscus, and cloves on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium minus tannins; tastes like raspberries, tart cherries, and wet slate with a long finish. Nellie doesn't like it (she says it's tart and chimically), but I love it. — 10 months ago

Gibbston Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016

Red and blue fruits give way to orange zest , animal fur ,baking spices violets and minerals . Rich and full-bodied on the palate yet has Wonderful elegance and mineral infused finish with lingering cherry and dry extract . This wine comes from the valley floor and you get the richness and depth from the heavier soil. A stunning bottle that will improve over the next few years and last at least a decade more . — 6 years ago

River Run Central Otago Pinot Noir 2015

Just perfect. Light color, but lots of depth in flavor. Red berries and Central Otago dirt. Strong sense of terroir and place. Perfect balance. And so, so drinkable. — 6 years ago

Gibbston Valley

China Terrace Pinot Noir

Such a contrast to 2016! 2014 was warmer and with 2 more years of bottle age, the wine is more fruit forward, more opulent and more balanced against the brooding, spicy character of Gibbston. Fabulous! — 6 years ago

Picnic Organic Central Otago Pinot Noir

Barnhill, Otagu perhaps the home of NZ PN, and boy this one doesn't let you down. Sam Neill name behind this, classic PN, cherry, tabac, berries galore, mirrored to many a French PN but so much better. — 2 years ago

Central Otago Pinot Noir 2015

Our friend Kelly brought this back from her trip to Oz and it doesn’t disappoint. Small production NZ Pinot with depth but not too much fruit so the top end finishes beautifully. Lots of tobacco and anise without being overbearing and one dimensional. I like the huckleberry side notes and enough earth tone to match up with some of the top Oregon Pinot that stays in the more traditional Burgundian style. — 6 years ago

I really like this Pinot. Earthy-Terrific balance of spice, smoke and raspberry - but my balance favors smoke! $16 at Costco... I would pay twice. — 7 years ago

Lake Wanaka Central Otago Osteiner

Bought in Wanaka, best wine out of all the ones during the wine tasting. Delicious!!

Saved the bottle and drank 4 years later, was a little tangy. We probably left it too long. Still really nice though!
