Deep ruby/purple in the glass. Powerful aromas of dark chocolate, violet and cassis are layered with black currant and plums. The medium plus acidity drives the lush ripe fruit in the midpallet, centered around wildflowers, baking spice and dark berries. The finish is long with polished tannins and a touch of tobacco. — 8 years ago
My first Pisoni. The most remarkable aspects of this wine are its aromas of raspberries and roses. The wine is juicy and complex, centered with strawberries and raspberries and surrounded by tobacco and pepper. In a word, this pinot noir is flamboyant. — 8 years ago
Terrior Tasting Bright ripe nose with black cherry, red raspberry and red current fruit that is accented with lovely floral, mineral and spice tones. The wine has a generous mouthfeel with silky tannins and abundant, juicy sweet red fruit character. The finish is focused but fruit centered. This appears to have slot of upside but drinks so well that it is hard to resist. — 8 years ago
A lively conversation ensued around the Jean Vesselle Bouzy Champagne Cuvée Friandise Demi-Sec Rosé, a debate centered not on this wine's formidable 32 g/l dosage, but rather it's dark crimson color, which Delphine Vesselle insists is pink. Wafting aromas of cherry clafoutis, raspberry purée, rose petals and a faint smoky edge. The attack is more delicate than I'd imagined, with red fruit at the center, carried aloft by a fine mousse and pleasant savoriness. Lot 30854 | Sample — 9 years ago
2013 vintage: Light gold color. Deep complex and very inviting aroma. (Old worldly but completely clean aromas). Tangerine, spritz Apple jiuce. Limes and dry rocks very interesting arimas. Gramma's bosom warmth... Inviting aromas. Dried citrus candy notes. Wow!
Richer style with round texture but remains fresh and medium vibrant. Warm light oak char, world class.
Well centered acid / fruit balance. Sophisticated and like good ripe Chablis. River stones and mild chalk in finish. Long and super well made.
Awesome !!

Deep color and rich fruit depth, but with a centered acidity. Surprisingly earthy nose. A food wine that allowed for the great Caesar salad here. Puglia. — 9 years ago
Fruit centered for a Sauvignon blanc. Not oaky at all. Great for sipping on a hot day — 12 years ago
Strawberry, tangerine. Nice minerality on the finish. A fuller bodied example with fine-tuned acid. Fruit-centered. — 7 years ago
red fruit and spice. Perfectly balanced ranging from sweet to peppery. Amazing range centered square in the middle — 8 years ago
Great complexity - layered with some grain & lees, bright on palate, another great strange creation from the Off Centered Beer Guys — 9 years ago
Balanced young fruit with centered and focused acidity. Prominent wet crushed rock minerality on the palate. Potting soil, clay flower pots, wild mushrooms, fresh blooming violets, sun ripened bananas, and strong strawberry aromas; bright across the board. Finish pushes through the second round and cuts through just about any food you throw at it. Stole this for $9.99. In Kermit I trust. Cheers! — 9 years ago
This vintage a little more darkly fruited and less savory, but still centered. Would love to see with a little more time — 9 years ago
Elegantly built-up aromas and flavors, centered around peaches, gooseberries and orange blossom notes, framed by hints of oak, but first and foremost this is a modern and positively naked expression where tart fruit and minerality are driving forces. Mid-term cellaring is recommended. — 10 years ago
Made in a fruit-centered, modern version where loads of cherries and blackberries are balanced by sweet, ripe tannins, juice acidity and bitter chocolate flavors. Traces of VA and somewhat hit on the back palate. Individual. That said, I'll personally only digest it if somebody else is paying. — 10 years ago
After a little bit of a hiatus with my wife suffering from GI issues, I have been a little bit off my delectable game. This wine sort of re-centered me and brought me back into the game! First one in a while that I have wanted to post! What an incredibly rich and robust Cabernet. Oakville fruit, and you can taste the oak, blackberry, cinnamon, still extremely tannic. I cannot imagine rating a 2013 or 14 version of this wine, because I just don't think it's possible at this point. This one still needs an hour or two to open up, but is a 94 even after immediately pouring — 8 years ago
Peach, orange peal, butter at first, opens to more fruit centered and loses the oakyness — 8 years ago
Really pretty and fruit centered Valtellina. As is generally true for the DOC, this is softer and a bit more floral than its nebbiolo cousins to the south. Accessible now, great with a wide variety of food, and plenty of development to come. Nice value. — 8 years ago
Very similar impression to my last bottle. This was already an amazing value at full price, but at the Zachys blowout price it's steal-of-the-decade material. Opens with a whiff of classic old-style Burgundy barnyard funk but on the palate the focus is more on the gravelly mineral element. The fruit is about as gentle and feminine as Santenay ever gets - this is a very classy wine. The stem signature is starting to recede and there is no more overt greenness here, just an underlying sapidity keeping things centered and taut. — 9 years ago
Rich, lush botyrtis tinged nose with peach and apricot fruit and superb soil inflected accents. Orange marmalade with pear fruit flavors all centered on a mineral core. This is just dynamite. — 9 years ago
Named after a silent order of monks (the 'Lazarists') that were centered in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, often found providing comfort & shelter for those in need. This wine's a blend made up of Carignan, Grenache, Syrah & Cinsault -- Fresh and Affordable with Notes of Raspberry, Red Currant, Wild Herb... — 9 years ago
Light color, fruit centered Pinot. — 9 years ago
Spendy bubbles aren't usually my jam, but this is pretty great. So much minerality and lime centered citrus almost keep you from noticing just how big a wine this is. — 10 years ago
Amazing crisp Demi sec that translates to a festival of peach centered fruit salad. — 11 years ago

Natural style, slightly sour, juicy but complex. Vastly better than the Occhipinti all-Frappato, which tastes like an ashtray. Highly drinkable but perhaps a little self-centered for intuitive easygoing food pairings. — 7 years ago
