NV, Caveau du Mont July, Bugey-Cerdon Sparkling. 95% Gamay, 5% Poulsard. More of a rose and a little less sweet than the Botex Bugey. This is really good juice. Light, ripe red fruit with good acidity and only 8% alcohol. A great wine to introduce to my non-wine drinking family and friends. Just a good apertif to start any gathering with. Peppercorn, loamy earth and limestone meet plum on the nose. More black cherry than red, with a strong mid palate that transitions effortlessly to an elevated, almost floral (purple flowers) finish. Tannins are well integrated at this point. Enjoyed following 3 hr decant. — 11 years ago
