Spectacular... balanced and still young. See you in 5 years — 7 years ago
A bit tight. Opened up in the evening after double decanting later in the day. Elegant. — 9 years ago
2011 - Espressivo, pepato, con more in caramella, note polverose e tanto sale, per un sorso di grande equilibrio e per nulla scontato nella sua evoluzione a centro bocca estremamente saporita — 9 years ago
The estate of Sette Ponti lies in the heart of the Chianti zone, 15 miles NW of the city of Arezzo past village of San Giustino Valdarno. A blend of 90% Sangiovese & 10% Merlot, aged in French Allier barriques. Deep Ruby with red fruit aromas and blossom spice. On the palate blackberry and cherry flavors, earthy spice and grainy tannins. Good balance lingering finish ending with some oak, earthy and mineral tones. — 4 years ago
So beautifully aromatic and soft textured. 100% Sangiovese. Elegant af. Im in love with this Chianti — 7 years ago
2nd bottle of this wine in as many weeks. This one not quite as developed or complex as the last but still a good example of this Chianti vintage. Typical dark cherry, with some wood and spice, but a little disappointing on the finish. Chalk it up to this individual bottle as the last one was very quite lovely!

Last bottle in Italy! — 10 years ago
Actually an orange, aged in clay amphorae. Very elegant and dry and interesting. Smooth, not smokey — 5 years ago
Lush, plump fruit but layered with Old World dust and rustic charm. Menthol, licorice, herbs and leather permeate throughout. Surprisingly bright fruit profile and vibrancy for such a ripe and high-alcohol vintage. It manages to not be overpowering or food-averse which in itself is a great feat given the extreme ripeness. We were all pleasantly charmed by this bottle, which was a magnum served with old school NYC-style veal saltimbocca. — 6 years ago
Really bright red cherry and nuttiness on the nose. Pretty, pretty garnet in the glass. A bit stiff at first, but it gets more and more inviting over time. I'll just refrain from making an analogy there. Medium bodied and dry. Chocolate, spice, and herbs. Spicy finish but not quite long enough. Nothing complicated here, just some good ol Italian. — 8 years ago
Had this wine in their vineyard in Greve in Chianti at a tasting. Best wine tour in Tuscany. Wine outstanding example Chianti — 8 years ago
Really tasty. Much softer and fruit forward than I expected. Tasted fantastic alone and could have stood up to any hearty meal. I'd buy this again in a minute and serve it proudly - it will easily please those that enjoy new and old world alike. — 9 years ago

Lovely full bodied Chianti Classico Riserva still tannic on the palate and could age at least another 5 years. Very indicative of the region of Castellina in Chianti with the addition of 10% Merlot for smoothness and body. Unfortunately my last bottle of the 2008 vintage. Drinking in May, 2020. — 4 years ago
