This wine was perfect to me. It was sweet and bubbly and bursting full of red fruit flavors. I've been trying a lot of white wines lately which have been delicious, but the red fruit flavors were a great change for me with this one! — 11 years ago

Ginesio Casali de Bibbiano 2005
Cellared since purchase
Decanted, appearance typical of a 10 yr old cab.
Earth and cherry on the nose, slight leathery. Ripened cherries, dark spices, particularly clove, and cedar on the front end, structured soft tannins, maybe at it's peak. Drink soon — 9 years ago

From Friuli with fun. Light, perfumed, captivating. Will surpass your average prosecco and make you curious about something new. — 10 years ago

Herbal, bitter, purple, dark, but not heavy — 6 years ago
A fruit forward wine with lots of body. The high alcohol content makes it more difficult to distinguish some of the flavors but the wood/earthy flavor is pronounced towards the finish. — 8 years ago
Tasted October 2013
Fresh, delicate, complex, pleasant and drinkable wine with strong character.
Aged 3 months in steel tanks, 2 months in bottle.
Straw yellow colored with green hues, Aquilae is made of Grillo grape grown in Sicily only.
Huge spectrum of flavors on the nose - lime, green apple, almond, chamomile and withered grass. In mouth it's nicely dry with touch of saline minerality and clear accents of lemon, passionfruit and herbs.
Intense mouthcoating finish with smooth acidity and hints of mixed citrus and green gooseberry. Refreshing, intense and persistent - breathtaking wine! Highly recommended to pair with grilled monkfish with cheese or sicilian “beccaficu” sardines... sitting on seashore of Mediterranean )) — 9 years ago
Simple delicious, enjoyed it with an exotic baby spinach and avocado salad. — 9 years ago
For a $10 wine, it was wonderful. Medium body. Nice tannins. Raspberry and cherry first come to mind. Alcohol level definitely noticeable. Opened it for an hour before trying it. Paired great with a pizza! And yes, I'm giving it a high rating — 10 years ago
Very clean wine for the region it comes from. Would be excellent as an acidic foil for richer dishes. — 10 years ago
