Incredibly full and balanced. Loved it. — 9 years ago
The Viognier is evident so, yes, I can say licorice but of a gentle sort. Smooth comes to mind as the namesake marnes gives this a bit of mineral. A great bargain, I'd say. — 10 years ago
2009, if you can't tell.
Wanting to learn more about the grenache/garnacha grape led me to Priorata and this wine. Opened yesterday, mostly tasted today, I can tell the wine has softened quite a bit and is all the better for it. Candied nuts, black pepper, black cherry and black licorice, lavender, fig and some gravelly notes on the nose. And, as my girlfriend says, "Everything in the nose is dried".
Much more earthiness on the palate but with some full bursting red and black fruits. The finish lingers wonderfully and is well balanced, but that may be due to it having time to develop in the bottle after opening. I probably would've gone less for this yesterday, but I'll be damned if this isn't a pretty great wine today. — 10 years ago
Full flavored. Needs to breathe a bit. Fruity not too dry. Can stand up to a strongly flavored entree. — 10 years ago
Ahhhhhhh, crisp southern French rose that doesn't tend to the strawberry character that makes a refreshing summer drink but can really conflict with food. This is an excellent wine of its type - highly recommended. — 12 years ago
The quality obvious straight away here even though you can tell it will need a good 10 years to really shine. The fruit, the oak and the acid all balanced perfectly. But everything is restrained, the terroir showing itself more than anything and it's showing magnificently. — 9 years ago
Whites from the Languedoc can be amazing. Mas Jullien as a pioneer launch his vineyard in 1985, and produce high quality wines since when. Mas Jullien white is mineral, nervous, rich and complex. — 9 years ago
I am so glad I gave this wine a second, more sober, look. I have been harsh on Grenache/Grenache blends, but it just reinforced the fact that one can only judge wines, not varieties. This wine just needed 4 days of air before its real self could appear. It is a profound expression of red fruit with notes of persimmon, bay leaf, orange rind, and more. An aged bottle should be very good. — 9 years ago

Sweet Earth, black fruit, sour tannins. #wine bargain you can line a cellar with. — 10 years ago
Mint black chocolatey cherry. Can go longer. — 10 years ago
Reminds me of the typical wines in Nimes, France. The old Roman Ruins in Nimes are a sight to see. You can walk into a small grocery store near there and walk out with a bottle of wine, fresh baked bread and a variety of cheeses for under 15 euro. — 11 years ago
Tasty wine. — 9 years ago
Super dry, like mineral water if it were really made of minerals, lemon peel. — 9 years ago
2014. Warming, slightly spicy. Not too rich & powerful but easy & not too thin (not the most accurate word, the best I can do) — 9 years ago
Dense as a quasar of GSM can be, pulsing with earth & old runic rituals. The Mourvèdre really sings w nights black as ink and that smell of garrigue at twilight, waiting to eat cassoulet... — 10 years ago
This was recommended as a moderately priced (cheap) velvety red by the wonderful sommelier at Gramercy Tavern. It is super balanced and refreshing, you can taste the anise and pepper up front. — 10 years ago
2012 le mas de flauzieres , Gigondas from S. Rhone valley. Dark plum look with high viscosity , tennis ball, cinnamon, plum, tar - medium/high tannin, light acidity, acids finish fleeting with a bit of fruit but the tannins linger long after. 14% alcohol which you can feel at first — 11 years ago

Superb wine - kinda headliner of Torres family. Perfect pairing to very special event.Superb wine - kinda headliner of Torres family. Perfect pairing to very special event.
Deep, smooth, noble. Can't get rid of feeling my glass was just poured from clay jug. Behind wet clay notes one can easy determine ripe plum, black currant and cumin. Very well balanced. Definitely best from Spain I ever had — 9 years ago
