Well balanced and savory with red cherry and meaty Mataro. Very nice mineral finish. — 5 years ago
Ancient vintages of this Saint-Émilion have a tendency to impress and the 1958 Canon-la-Gaffelière is no different. Quite pale in colour, it has a wonderful, heart-warming bouquet with red cherry, strawberry and burning embers/ash-like aromas. It is clean and well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with surprising fruit concentration, harmonious and gentle, the acidity pitch perfect. Whilst not a complex wine it has a sense of purity that catches you off guard. I love the piquancy on the finish. Wonderful. Tasted at the Académie du Vin dinner. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2018 — 7 years ago
great wine easy drinking — 7 years ago
08 vintage - decanted for 2 hours & it is just a great blend of fruit, wet rock, with a smooth mouthfeel. A slight tobacco & pepper finish. It's velvet & pairs exceptionally well with creamy stinky cheese. — 8 years ago
First rum I’ve ever liked, I’m 40 years old and whenever i drank rum I always gagged and felt the burning from the sins of a thousand years of hell burning inside my face, throat, and chess. This rum, however, felt like a hot cup of tea during a fall thunder storm. Perfection! — 5 years ago

I like this label design. I like Mourvèdre as well. You are smarter for reading this. — 7 years ago
Molten butterscotch on a frozen lake — 7 years ago
Stays on the cool side of big blue fruits. Crisp acidity makes a lot of the subtle aspects jump out. Burning embers, citrus, a very detailed wine. — 8 years ago
Sassafras, old decaying red fruit, root beer, butane, kitchen cleaning solvent, crushed watercress, red bean. Totally developed nose. Organic palette, grippy, if a bit sour and fermenting fruit, tannins still there! Finish with a bitter fruit that lingers. Nice. A nice study in age. — 8 years ago
Great dinner wine with bold rich flavor— reminds me of dinner somewhere with burning wood (Trust? Restaurant) — 5 years ago
I loved this 2017 Merlot Cabernet as a great every day drinking wine. $5.99 at Trader Joe’s - TJ wine expert Adam recommended. — 5 years ago
Great Pinot aroma, perfectly mild appearance like a Pinot should be. Would go well with Kobe and Wagu beef or mild spiced rack of lamb — 7 years ago

Fairly spicy. Good fruit but not overwhelming. Pretty good balance, but still on the fruity side. Slightly light on the body. — 9 years ago

From Enz Vineyard, Lime Kiln Valley AVA. Mourvèdre. Fuller body, more fruit forward style with wild red berries. 15.2% ABV. Deviates from typical D&R style, but very enjoyable. — 5 years ago
