Softer, baby Barolo. 90% Nebbiolo. Raspberries, dried cherries, flowers. Nice balance. — 8 years ago
Deep baked dark fruit on the nose. Bloody and jammy in the mouth with lots of garrigue and afternotes of charred meat. A bit of green olive. — 8 years ago
Nice round taste but quite a heavy wine. — 9 years ago
Modern in style but quite enjoyable. Oak is noticeable but not intrusive. Lots of fruit still present with slight sweetness on the midpalate and lively tannins on a bone dry finish. Decanted for two hours as tannins are still fairly aggressive otherwise. It is advisable. — 9 years ago
Well balanced rosé - delicate and pleasant! — 10 years ago
For a 2014 bottle, I immediately get rich meatiness, wet leaves in Autumn, lots of smoke (like from burning Autumn leaves). On the palette, higher acidity than I might have expected, almost lemon-orange, which is far from what I would anticipate from a red Burgundy. Also astringent like tea. The scent gives a lovely complex sense of terroir, but unfortunately I don’t get it coming through as much on the palette. — 6 years ago
I know all of you sommeliers are drinking a perfect glass of history. think of the great william wallace. so while your drinking your glass of history by the wood burning fireplace let me explain this fantastic out of this world the most buck for your money. so I just recently bought a cork screw and turned it into a lewer (no pun intended) and so we began training. bottle 1 was corked and it was like the Aspen alps the crisp earth flavor and then it hit me. I am now in training to be a sommelier. jerkin off is now my #2 thing on my mind. I take a sip and I wish all you sommeliers in training good luck. — 7 years ago

Classy wine. Firm tannins structure. Masculine style with bright acidity. Tobacco, coffee, spices, and black fruits interweave together. Nice. — 8 years ago
A true Left bank. Medium dry, good tannins to cut though a hearty meal. A bit thin and burning alcohol taste at first but opens up nicely to show more depth. Earthy, pencil led, cigar box, light barn yard. — 8 years ago
Cranberry raspberry and heavy minerality wow I love it!!!! Teeth burning!! — 8 years ago
If you make it to Arizona, make sure you stop by burning tree. By far my favorite winery in cottonwood, az. The 45-70 bones you spend on a bottle is well worth it. Acidic but well balanced. — 9 years ago
Christmas Barolo — 10 years ago
Stays on the cool side of big blue fruits. Crisp acidity makes a lot of the subtle aspects jump out. Burning embers, citrus, a very detailed wine. — 7 years ago
If you were down to your last $30, my recommendation would be to buy and drink this wine. Well, first you should ask if the 2013 is available, but you could have worse problems than having to settle for the 2014, like only having $30, but I digress. Opens with same familiar voice: burning incense, lavender, and dark bramble fruit. Noticing a more pungent earth and wet stone nuance than the last bottle. Explosive, ripe black raspberry fruit on the palate is tempered by the bitter cocoa and sea salt. There's some captivating secondary fig or truffle there, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Inspiring. — 8 years ago
Made in a similar style to amarone. — 8 years ago
Lemon pie and orange blossoms with lemon poppy madeleines lingering in the stratosphere. Banana bread and cedar shavings. The bourbon barrel screams from the glass. Hazelnut and pecan turn creamy vanilla pudding, pine nut, grass clippings and charred bits, with a satisfying carbon and graphite in a lemon pith middle burning a hot streak. — 8 years ago
Such a good red blend - dry tangy and fruity but with a smooth finish. This is my favorite red. — 8 years ago
The nose gives black cherry and licorice aromas with just the faintest hint of a campfire or a fireplace burning. Very lively on the palate, it tastes of cherry and red currant in a very fun manner. There is a hint of red vine licorice and ripe, red plums. The mouthfeel is full, the acidity is striking and the tannic structure is firm, but not beastly. — 9 years ago
LOVE love love this wine. Very bold. Strong cherry but still earthy. — 9 years ago
