Burn Cottage

Burn Cottage

Central Otago Pinot Noir 2014

Tasted at NZ cellar Pinot tasting. Light, savoury with nice acidity. Ted Lemon from Littorai is the consultant winemaker. — 9 years ago

White Cottage Ranch

Howell Mountain Cabernet Franc 2009

Yum. Ripe and silky cab franc, juicy and integrated with none of the green notes that can make cab franc feel underripe or unbalanced. Gorgeous. — 9 years ago

some of the better quality I've had--no burn, no bite, easy finish, easy drink. incredible but no dryness, which is a deal breaker for me ;) — 9 years ago

Lock, Stock & Barrel

Aged 13 Years Straight Rye Whiskey

Lock stock and barrel rye. Awesome complexity. Wet paint, spice, caramel, great burn. Fucking great. Goes well with David Bowie playing in the background. — 9 years ago

Really loving this. Vibrant nose of carbonic red fruit/cherry/raspberry, flowers/hibiscus/rose, savoury herbs. Drinking it is very enjoyable. The fruit is more sour cherry/cranberry balanced by those herb notes and with some dirt/earth minerality. Blind, I would probably call this Beaujolais. — 9 years ago

Goose Island

Bourbon County Brand Stout 2015

Delicious. I like the sharp alcohol burn in the 2015 but the 14 had a deeper complexity and long taste — 9 years ago

I just bought three bottles of this.

Francis Ford Coppola Winery

Diamond Collection Black Label Claret California Cabernet Sauvignon

Last night's wine.
Like someone burned the cookies. It was thick and chewy on my tongue like spiced Mexican champurrado with a little pepper burn on the back of my throat. Unripe cherries and lemongrass (yellow green) and something resembling licorice but not.

Klinker Brick

Farráh Lodi Syrah 2011

Big boy with nice structure, a lot of fruit and dark plum color. You can definitely pick up the almost 15% alcohol but there is no after burn. Nice finish on this one and a big old ribeye would go nicely. — 12 years ago
