Dinner out in Algonquin, a lovely new wine that we will struggle to find at Jewel! — 4 years ago
Very different on the nose than the lips. Bouquet was almost floral while the taste was quite spicy. Turning out to be a favorite region for sure — 4 years ago
Very solid. Pairs with lamb / fatty dishes. Fruity and spicy. — 5 years ago

TW Nice wine but nothing extraordinary, good value when it's on sale. — 8 months ago
Vintage 2020 | Modern marketing name and label. The Spanish can do magic with monastrell (= mourverdre). Unbelievable stubborn when popped and poured, beautiful smell. Given 24 hours aeration it develops lovely: smooth taste, glorious fruit. I selected it to pair Indonesian food, which is difficult for matching. It works. — 9 months ago
The Syrah definitely shows up. Adds some weight and a little olive tapenade. seemed to have a little new oak. — 5 years ago
A great modern blend, deep colour, rich palate, still strong tannins, wonderful finish. — 6 years ago

A very average tasting, inexpensive Spanish Monastrell wine. — 7 years ago
Similar to a cab sauv — strong aroma but not too strong on the palette. Not oaky which is great! Dad likes this one a lot. — 8 months ago
Not your standard jammy Monastrell: deep wafting (mostly) dark fruited aromas, licorice & minerals, just oozing - peppery notes as well. Broad smooth on palate (med + weight) not much acidity, rugged tannins leading to modest finish. Great QPR @ Costco — 10 months ago
Spain. Medium body. Mildly complex. Dry & fruity. Blackberries, plums, spices, cherries, chocolate, cloves. Spice forward. No sharp note. Aged French oak. Price $13-$20. Rob Costco wine. — 4 years ago
Taste of cherry and dark berries. A toasty taste on the finish. — 5 years ago

This was my birthday wine from Total Wine. One of the staff recommended it. It tastes like a small batch, old recipe. Smooth, dry, with just a tad of sweet berry finish. Will definitely purchase again! — 7 months ago
