Dry, full body. Great — 6 years ago
Dark ruby color, with bright acidity in the glass. Sensuous bouquet of plum liqueur, blackberry and cassis. Powerful well balanced and still young fruit in the mouth, well rounded with sweetness penetrating firm tannins. Beautiful long finish that exudes a powerful elegance. A tour de force that is still years from maturity! — 6 years ago
Mineral tasting. Good bouquet. Lacks vibrant fruit flavor — 7 years ago
I have no clue why everybody rated this wine so low, it is a full-bodied strong bouquet vibrant absolutely beautiful — 7 years ago
Finally trying the 2009 Morlet Bouquet Garni the nose has a peppery earthy & the comm#es a blackberry liqueur, the palate I has a rich cassis & blackberry syrup with a couch or pencil lead or graphite and soft tannins integrating in this wine with a long finish! — 8 years ago
Outstanding and delicious. A ton of fruit balanced by a ton a acidity. Like a party in the glass. Awesome, truly distinctive, and delicious. — 8 years ago
Bouquet where the cab franc comes right out. Love cab franc. Taste is long and delicious. Medium body. — 9 years ago
WOW. Awesome. Deep, rich body with a wonderful mixed berry bouquet. Would buy again and again. — 10 years ago
Full bouquet, taste of fruit blackberry and aged oak with a noticeable amount of tannin and a loooong finish as it opened up. Going from tangy to spicy and leaves your mouth feeling like it went to sleep for a good 30 seconds. — 6 years ago
Great! Floral, and just dry enough. — 6 years ago
Our other Thanksgiving wine. A bit dried out, but a lovely bouquet. Good cork. Of the recent Leovilles, I prefer the 78 Barton, and next the 81 Las Cases. This comes in third, but not shabby at all! — 6 years ago
Time to taste the 2015 still in barrel. On the nose, it's deep dark cassis with lots of baking spices, spice and dark, fresh floral bouquet. The body is full and ripe. Rich & ripe; blackberries, huckleberries, boysenberries, cream black raspberries, caramel, milk chocolate and lots of baking spices. Tobacco, some graphite, violets, dark florals, crushed dry rocks, gritty volcanic minerals, anise, dark, soft spice, whiff of pepper, good round acidity and a well polished fruity dry tannin finish. It's will develop nicely in 15 plus years. — 7 years ago
Big black fruit, great bouquet, dry. — 8 years ago

Excellent. Even better the second day. A lot of grip but the tannins are well integrated. — 9 years ago
1934 Château Margaux
Top shoulder fill. Semi-opaque at the core, almost like an old burgundy with its brownish hews. Beautiful and graceful bouquet of roses, raspberries that have been baked, very elegant and healthy nose. At first very dry, with the fruit barely hanging on for dear life, but after 15 minutes in the decanted it comes alive with sweet fruit, high acidity and just a kiss of tannin. This is very complex and sublime for about a period of 20-40 minutes, what else could you ask for from a 80 year old bottle of wine.
THANKS DAVE !!

Had older vintages, the ‘07 was released in late 2015, great but still has time to bottle age. Decant 2 hours before drinking. Tempranillo with about 15% Mazuelo (Cariñena), concentrated bouquet of berry fruits with spice. On the palate cherry and plum flavors, well balanced for a difficult vintage. Lingering, crisp and focused, tight tannins ending with a mineral character and earthy tones, a traditional Rioja. Stock up on the ‘07, there is no ‘08, but ‘09, ‘10 & ‘11 will be released Wow! 900 cases US! — 6 years ago
A lovely blend with a light bouquet of fruits and mild oak flavor — 7 years ago
Blueberry and spice bouquet. Rich and smooth palate. A great wine for a special occasion. Happy anniversary to us! Thanks Molly! — 7 years ago
This is definitely a great bottle. High alcohol but once it opens up the bouquet is marvelous; Vanilla, baking spices, fresh berries and cream. All upfront taste... bright fruit, berries, orange notes, red apple skin, medium-high tannins but all upfront clean finish, surprisingly light body. I would recommend this wine and would be an easy seller with a decent price point. — 7 years ago
Minimal bouquet. Smooth eminently drinkable light red — 8 years ago
The 2005 has developed wonderful bouquet. Alcohol seems higher than the 13.5 listed on bottle. — 9 years ago
Stunning immediately. Just increased in bouquet over two hours. C'est parfait — 9 years ago
1968 Vega-Sicilian "Unico"
I have not tasted many wines from Ribera that are of this age. For my birth year - 1968 - I have spent most of my celebrations tasting Rioja - 1968 is a fantastic Rioja vintage. I estimated at 68 would also be fantastic for Ribera (at $300 plus per bottle this was a big bet). The color is spectacular at 46 years; this particular bottle was in exceptional condition. The nose is detailed with bouquet of mediterranean olive, peppercorn, smoked ham and baking spices. A time capsule. In Rioja the wines finish with wonderful seems of acidity, stone, winemaking style and terroir - in this Ribera the wine does not finish with the same punctuation but finishes with an elegance and refinement that speaks to the greatness of this wine but was probably better a decade ago. 91-points for this bottle. — 10 years ago
