Big, big Petite Syrah! Loads of dark fruit and tannins. Really opened up after an hour in a decanter. Paired perfectly with brined, cold-smoked then petite Syrah braised beef short ribs ala Michael Chiarello Bottega style over polenta. This was a fun wine find while tasting Odette Cabernet. — 8 years ago

Good with lamb, had at Bottega in Yountville. Good bite and smokiness. Paired well with juicy and sweet meats. — 10 years ago

Very nice. 2010 was a good year. But not as good as 1995, when I proposed to Shannon at Bottega. — 8 years ago

Can't go wrong with a Chiarello wine when at Bottega in Yountville - pairs well with Italian but stands alone as well. Looking forward to 2 bottles of '05 that we have at home! — 7 years ago
Really enjoyed this wine. — 8 years ago
Excellent addition to the veal pasta tonight at Bottega. Ordered a bottle for myself and the 4 girls with me and drank the majority to myself. Win-win-win-win. — 9 years ago
Ten euros at a small grocery on Giudecca in Venice. Nice but possibly overpriced. — 9 years ago
This is the Bottega Valdobbiadene Proseco I mentioned in my earlier post. I had a glass of this at Tavernetta del Battistero Ristorante. Apparently, this Proseco you cannot find/buy in any local shops. According to the manager, it can only be purchased from the winery in a region north of Florence and he buys 50 cases of it at a time. Delicious. Might go back to buy a whole bottle before we leave. — 9 years ago

Wine from 600 year old Greek grapes. Production is limited to 7,500 bottles per year, one of which we were lucky enough to be introduced to at Retro Bottega. Described as a wine with 'le rondeu d'un Bourgogne et la puissance d'un Languedoc'. Deliciously long with licorice notes. Yum! — 10 years ago
Bianco Toscano, golden colour, fragrant nose of orange blossom, dry and rich on the palate. Wine Bottega. Good. Nice alternative to Chardonnay and Italian Pinot Grigio. Explore this further! — 10 years ago
