Naturally deep gold in the glass. Dried pomes, honey, distinct botrytis flavors on the nose and palate. Medium acidity but in good balance. Got an apple pie? — 10 years ago
Wow, is all. Instead of bubbles and toast, we get frizzante with dirt, meat and Kalamata olives. Oh yeah. If Lambrusco isn't wild enough for you, try this. — 10 years ago
great change for rhone lovers. nose not roasted as expected from a NW wine. just ripe fruits infused with typical rhone-like flowers too. smooth palate. not too much alcohol. — 11 years ago

Old school California style field blend, with lots of ripe, wild dark berry fruit but none of the jamminess and oak to screw it up. Really delightful. — 10 years ago

Interesting. Big flavor with tartness that causes a little pucker — 8 years ago
Fresh tarmac and cooked berry on the nose. Very focused grenache. This wine makes me aware of Monterey's potential. Very good but I'm not sure I'd pay $48 a bottle for it. — 8 years ago
Wow! Smoky nose with musty characteristics - in a good way. The wine sings with berry flavors and herbal notes! Delicious. — 9 years ago
Weirdly tasty, and extremely savory. I get tomatoes and bell peppers with a background of cherries, particularly after a decant. — 10 years ago

My last bottle about 2 years ago was closed, but boy has this opened up! Northern Rhône nose shows very granite-like minerality (is there even any granite in Cali?) and dark, feral berry fruit. Cracked black peppercorns too. Soft, balanced and mouthfilling, marked with dark, delicate fruit and a gentle iodine note. What a bargain at $15! — 7 years ago
