Wow! Smoky nose with musty characteristics - in a good way. The wine sings with berry flavors and herbal notes! Delicious. — 8 years ago
Weirdly tasty, and extremely savory. I get tomatoes and bell peppers with a background of cherries, particularly after a decant. — 8 years ago
Old school California style field blend, with lots of ripe, wild dark berry fruit but none of the jamminess and oak to screw it up. Really delightful. — 9 years ago
Very enjoyable. — 10 years ago
Terrific Sunday night wine to enjoy with the Niners game! #FieldBlend #flavor — 11 years ago
Musty nose of earth and eucalyptus. Alcohol quickly blows off. Big peppery flavors. Not incredibly complex but very tasty! — 6 years ago
Interesting. Big flavor with tartness that causes a little pucker — 6 years ago
Only Randall could imagine this unique combination. — 7 years ago
The wine is a lovely and rich greenish gold, much the same as the LCB “normale,” but maybe a little more vibrant. Aromas are predictably savory - beeswax, lanolin, minerals, citrus - and flavors walk that same path. The tropical fruit hits hard, with that Roussanne nuttiness right behind. The earthy, almost soapy, note stays long after the sip while acidity holds a high threshold. You could spend $45 on a Chardonnay very easily, but this wine gives you something much more interesting for your investment. — 8 years ago
Dry, funky - definitely interesting. — 8 years ago
Naturally deep gold in the glass. Dried pomes, honey, distinct botrytis flavors on the nose and palate. Medium acidity but in good balance. Got an apple pie? — 9 years ago

Intense and concentrated color and aroma, melons, lemons, star fruit, apple, pear, sweet fruit on the front and mid palate, tart fruit, spice, calcium vitamins and salt on the finish. — 10 years ago
In my mind, the premiere expression of (value) CA Grenache. Tart, bright, enough vanilla and cracked pepper. Tuesday (Asian) Turkey burgers never tasted so good. Well played, Randall. — 10 years ago
Tangy, raisin, apple , and carmelized pineapple — 11 years ago
Similar to the 2009 normale, but with another gear. Very refined. Excellent. — 6 years ago

Slight oak, but total Grenache profile in your palate, nice but was a little chilly. — 7 years ago
Soft floral nose. Salty and complex on the palate. Super long savory finish. — 9 years ago
Wow, is all. Instead of bubbles and toast, we get frizzante with dirt, meat and Kalamata olives. Oh yeah. If Lambrusco isn't wild enough for you, try this. — 9 years ago
