Very nice Malbec. Really enjoyable with good fruit and a pleasant finish. I agree with Ryan that it is better the second day. — 5 years ago

So even though my freestyle pumpkin carving did not go well I did get to enjoy this nice blend to ease the pain of the death of my artistic dreams, pumpkin category — 6 years ago

Le Fiacre du Pape Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2014

Sorry for being AWOL. But I bring tidings of great joy. The 2014 is out! (So is Bogle Phantom. More later! I just kiss on the first date!) I love Le Fiacre du Pape. Hands down one of the best values -- and most under the radar -- wines on the market. Brought to me many vintages ago by Señor Haro, a formidable presence in the wine world. The 2014 has great fruit, with a nice meaty backdrop. Lots of bacon fat and mushroom. Awesome. Unlike past years a bit tannic. Needs to breathe! Always one to have on hand. — 7 years ago

Juggernaut

Hillside Cabernet Sauvignon

Pretty big I’m sure the bottle has a placebo effect. Good value for the price though I want to blind taste it though with a cheap apothic dark or Bogle red blend. — 4 years ago

Black Stallion Winery

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Could be a good everyday, right up there with a few others we like consistently, like Bogle Phantom. — 5 years ago

Parcelica Chica Yecla Monastrell Syrah

Trying to find good wine for under$12 to replace Bogle PS. Bought 12 different bottles. Red fruit nose. Raspberry tobacco splash of vanilla with smooth tannins. Medium bodied. Tasty. Good length. Would buy again. Very good weekday wine. Great price point. — a year ago

Clarksburg Chenin Blanc 2018

I’m a fan of SA and Loire Chenin so I was looking forward to this ✔️

👁: pale lemon with a tinge of green
👃: strikingly ripe fruit. Candied pineapple, green apple (but they kind that’s already turned yellow from ripeness), lemon, and butterscotch
👅: the same ripe tropical fruit, including mango and lychee. Balanced with an intense but well judged acidity. Smooth and knitted together quite well. A touch of bitterness on the finish.

Unexpected given ripeness, but this really works for me. 😋

Director's Cut Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

This is a great cab, worth the moderate price tag. Comparable to bogle phantom, which is the bar for wine around the $20 mark. — 6 years ago
