Star bright, near water clear straw gold. A bit of “stank” on the bosomy nose, that blows off to reveal lemon, citrus rind, and hay. Echoed on the palate with the lemon asserting itself more prominently back palate. Bright (medium) acidity. Medium full body (without obvious malolactic). Baked quince somehow managed to sneak into the finish. I’m enjoying mine with a rich fruit and cheese plate. Enjoy yours with same, or with white flesh fish, poultry with cream sauce, or salad greens with diverse veggies and nuts. — 7 years ago

Very interesting. A little sweet barnyard on the nose (not sour). Undertones of port. — 10 years ago
A fantastic medium bodied red blend. 60% Tannat & 40% Merlot. Refreshing nose of plums, ripe raspberry, and violet. Great $11 wine from Uruguay. — 11 years ago
2013 Vina Progresso Viognier from Uruguay. Austere style with green fruit, gooseberry, lemon peel, honeydew melon plus a racy finish. Not typical of Viognier but truly pleasant and screams fresh seafood NOW. — 12 years ago

Dark red purple in the glass. Full nose of red currant, roses, and bell pepper. Full bodied palate echoes the nose and delivers juicy black fruit on top. Firm, fuzzy tannins (medium plus) and medium acidity round out this wine that screams for beef. Drink now or in the next five years (by 2023). — 7 years ago
Great expression for a young wine from Progreso region in Uruguay. — 9 years ago

Great expression of the classic Tannat Merlot blend from Pisano in Uruguay. Great black fruit but not too much lighter than you'd expect for a Tannat. Really enjoyable. — 10 years ago
Delicious with dark chocolate mousse dessert. — 11 years ago

This is a tannat grape wine, not cabernet sauvignon. I got the 2017 vintage and it was really splendid. Robust and well balanced with notes of wood and spices. — 5 years ago
