Medium minus acidity I think, even though the bottles says it’s very acidic, with a medium body and a kick of alcohol. I get citrusy notes like lime in this, which I really like, but might be wrong. SO was tipsy already but enjoyed it. — 6 years ago

Tempranillo - somewhat a chameleon - is a varietal I almost always enjoy in any expression. This Paso Robles version shows the darker side of its fruits with plum, amarena cherry, and mission fig. There's an initial impression of broken gray earth that builds as the nose opens and gains complexity with dried sage, fennel pollen, and dare I say. ..a whisper of American oak. The tailored structure impresses Ribera del Duero in my mind and I want to open this again sometime. ... side by side with something like Alonso del Yerro's Maria. — 10 years ago
Alonso popped this for my BD. It was good but still young. — 11 years ago

Drunk too young. Dark cherries, blackberries and raspberries wrapped in fine oak. Full bodied, tannins getting there, fine acidity and length — 6 years ago
On the Lawn at Tanglewood this final afternoon with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our guest conductor Giancarlo Guerrero (Nashville Symphony director) is leading SCHOENBERG (Friede auf Erde, Opus 13 (Peace on Earth), for unaccompanied chorus) and BEETHOVEN (Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Opus 125).
The 9th by Beethoven is always bittersweet for us, as it marks the end of the official Symphony and Pops season for the BSO at their Summer home. It is a wonderful and singularly emotive moving piece, with the full force of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus at 250+ singers, conveying the message of a divine spark of joy that makes all people one.

Nose has ripe yellow apple, lightly oxidized green apple peel, baked phyllo dough, partially aromatic white flowers and damp rocks. I always get a natural wine vibe here, without the vinegar-like profile, but it seems alive!
Palate has baked green and yellow apple pastry, crisp acidity yet dense, candle wax begins on the finish and ends with dry granite. Great balance, very lengthy finish, clean and not cumbersome, superb vintage, long life ahead. We love you Jean-Jacques. — 7 years ago

Very fruity nose. Light and smooth. — 8 years ago

Fruity and very good friendly. @Leeanne Alonso This comment is from Kate ! She is not on social media so I have to post for her ! — 10 years ago
Of six RdDs, this was my favorite. At bit closed at first, then smoky meats and raisins. Full bodied and powerful with ripe cherries, oak and chocolate on the finish. Surprising, since it was one of the cheapest of the evening. — 11 years ago
From the best blend of selected grapes comes this "Alonso Branco" out of Carlos Alonso Douro Wines. Fermented at low temperatures, to best keep the varietal flavours. On the nose is rich and complex with notes of tropical fruits, young and fresh, with a long finish on the mouth, serve chilled at 8-10•c as an aperitif, with salads, fish or seafood — 13 years ago

Nose of warmed pear, light toasted brioche and wet limestone.
Palate has warmed lemon curd spread on lightly toasted bread, chalky-saline mousse and honey over yellow apple. Finish is med-long, a beautiful effort.
Disgorged 7/2017, blend of '13/'14 with a 50/50 blend of Chardonnay & Pinot Noir. Noted improvement with some additional bottle age since our prior experience (same disgorgement). — 7 years ago
Excellent Spanish tempranillo. — 7 years ago
Elegant. Not too much alcohol, so great for pairing. Raised at high altitude, so ripening takes longer. — 9 years ago
