OOOH. Jewel clear and leggy. More dank on the nose than I expected: the oak is a serious player here. Smooth, full, juicy and fruity on the palate. Tannins are shy but perfectly appropriate. The finish blooms delectably from rich earthy red and black fruit to caramelly vanilla oak goodness. The fruit and toffee linger with some tannin structure in mutually beneficial harmony for a long sweet finish. Blindfolded I'd guess this commanded a serious price tag from the depth, smoothness and length. $11 is insanity! If I see it anywhere in Nashville I'm buying them out. — 9 years ago
Bright tart and sweet tropicals, citrus, citrus blooms and steely minerality. Nice acidity and long finish. You want to age this one! — 9 years ago
2013. Beautiful embossed label. Very dark purple color. Ripe luscious aroma of dark woods that makes me salivate. A light tart initial taste with a distinct tannin dryness that blooms into a long strong finish of oak. This wine definitely grew on me as I drank more of it. It will probably age well. — 10 years ago
My favorite seafood wine of the summer. Don't drink too cold, it really blooms after a little opening up! — 10 years ago
72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot.
18 months in new French oak barrels.
Xanic means 'flower that blooms after the first rain'.
Fine aromas of black currant, blueberry and plum tinged with notes of cedar, truffle and sweet spices.
Tannins ripe and fleshy, structured acidity, spicy after taste.
Long and warm finish. — 11 years ago
Tried 2009 vintage. Great aroma with the scent of herbs and ripe fruits, hint of prune to the nose and give off nice lingering scent that last. Once tasted, hint of minerals and herb actually blooms on the tongue. Berries and prune completes the wine for a medium finish. — 12 years ago
Deep red, surprisingly clear for a cab. A little clear at the meniscus, and super leggy. Strong clean oak on the nose; blackcurrant, and a smoky spicy note I can best describe as coffee+green pepper. Slippy smooth on the palate, marvelous juicy acid, and clear, reserved tannins. The palate is rich astringent red fruit: cranberries and some red cherry. As the finish blooms, a whiff of bell pepper gives way to smoky savory coffee, lingering cranberry tartness, and a pleasant hint of oaky vanilla. Smoothness, delectable acidity, and oaky depth: I'd take this $13 bottle over a lot of cabs twice the cost! — 9 years ago
Beautiful unraveling. Blooms after air. And stoically holds her head high the second day in the bottle with a vision of the future. Jeanne d'Arc style. She wore armor made of iron protecting a heart that roared like a lion deep inside. Minerality that leaves you nostalgic. This will age beautifully. — 9 years ago
So lovely! And sooo many years left in this one. Definitely will benefit from some solid, thorough cellar time. Great nose with ripe berries, chocolate, licorice, christmas tree and slight tones of mint on the back. Tight and aggressive at first, needs several hours to open up. After decanting it blooms with solid smoky tones, ripe dark fruit and cured meats. Great balance and insanely delicious! — 10 years ago
Flavor blooms nicely as you sip. Slight acidic finish. — 10 years ago
Soft delicate silky start, later blooms to hints of strawberry. Classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape. — 11 years ago
Starts out a little sour and then blooms with some air — 11 years ago
Showing great sense of place, this is soil first- fruit second. Steely & chalky, with a good bit of funk on opening. As it warms, the fruit blooms and you see banana, clove, a bouquet of flowers and a touch of lemon. It's multi layered but not interwoven, and the heat rises as the wine warms. Grab a nice chunk of red hawk & this will shine. — 9 years ago
The pinot reveals itself late. It starts like an austere, somewhat smokey California Cab (if such a wine exists) than slowly blooms. Very underrated. — 9 years ago
Thin but thick-skinned wisdom. Balance with soft blooms of plum. — 9 years ago
Rich plum color for a Pinot, black cherry mixed with spice and woody nose but blooms into a deliciously smooth explosion, very thick velvety texture for a Pinot, yummy fruits and spice balanced. So perfect! — 10 years ago
Lovely blend-Grenache, mourverdre, marselan, carignano, Alucante by female vintner & soft touch, really blooms w air. Great mouthfeel. — 11 years ago
This evokes a late California Spring 11am picnic in Sonoma. Early blooms and the promise of bursting fruit. — 11 years ago

On the nose, nearly candied; lemons & green melon, ripe green apple, lime juice, golden raisins, touch of sea spray, soft & delicate chalkiness/minerality, yellow florals and citrus blooms. On the palate, oily & creamy. The fruits are slightly candied like the nose. Meyer lemons, lime juice, green & golden apple, golden raisins, green melon balls, a touch of honey & buttered popcorn. The finish is full, round & lush. Acidity is ripping. It's flaw for me, the alcohol (15%) is a little high. It gives a slight burning sensation on the tongue & back of the throat.
