2010 frappato. She truly is a superstar. Wine very clean almost burgundy like, light, feminin, perfect with a good steak for lunch. Sicilia with producers like COS, Ochiccpinti, Benanti still great value for outstanding quality. Robert Parker stay away. — 10 years ago

Finding what I've been looking for in Carricante. It's got a marsanne/roussane-like nose with banana peel, the blossoms of some rich tropical fruit, and some sage or Cali bay leaf. The phenolic are nicely reigned in, and it has something of that weightless, rainwater characteristic that the Benanti Pietramarina has in such abundance. Little fruit on the palate, just texture, acid, and minerality. Faintly tannic finish. — 10 years ago
