Pre-Release.
Deep and dark ruby red. Lovely and thick nose with dark cocoa, lots of bright red cherries, cinnamon and more baking spices. Heavy tannins (8/10) and drying. Lots of red berries, especially cherries on the palate. Some twigs and earthiness too. Long and lingering finish that needs some time. Little bit of heat in the finish. Grenache, cinsault, Syrah I was drinking red but opened this to cool down the seared tuna I made with crusted peppercorns. Paired nicely. Crisp, dry, refreshing. Enjoyed. Will bring rest of bottle to the beach this weekend. I bought this several weeks ago as a buy one get one free at Publix. Very good buy. Would buy again not on sale. — 6 years ago

A tannic monster. Figured a wine named "Wild Boar" is appropriate for Father's Day. This is so freaking dark in notes, but the color wouldn't allude to that. Color is red/purple and smells hot. Red licorice, peppercorn, anise on the nose. High tannins on the palate. Cedar, smoky, beef jerky notes to it. Spicy rhubarb too. If opening now, this needs at least a two hour decant. — 8 years ago
