The lost wine at Pierro. Rediscovered. 2001 with tasting notes of 4 years. 13 years on its a total winner. — 10 years ago
Comes at you like deep baritone with broad shoulders and strong hands aka Liam Neesons. No hijacking, though. The denouement and finish are nothing of note. While Neesons may have saved the plane, with this wine it turns out some someone was trying to light a cig for a few quick drags before the next sip. — 10 years ago

Classic Crozes-Hermitage, the 2013 Emmanuel Darnaud Mise en Bouche is composed of 100% Syrah grown in gallet-studded Glacial alluvia. Brooding and baritone, the nose is laden in black fruit. Gamier notes and black olives evolve into blackberries steeped in fresh thyme, violets, and anise pastille. The attack is all black fruit, couched in firm, grippy tannins that terminate in a moderate, if slightly chalky finish accented by cedar and green peppercorn. 13.0% ABV — 8 years ago
Nice, but a bit lactose on the finish I don't like? — 8 years ago

Great QPR, the Delas Saint-Joseph François de Tournon Rouge 2011 displays baritone aromas of ripe plums, reduced blackberries, anise, wet embers, fruit cake and a a billowing smoky undertow on opening. It's equally glorious in the mouth, I especially like the interplay of tannins and acidity. It's well defined, black fruit bolstered by cedar and Garrigue, I'm enjoying it on its own, certainly, it has the potential to age over the next decade or so. Highly recommended. — 8 years ago
