Arguably the wine of the day in the Aussie icons tasting. The great thing about St Henri is that Penfolds lets the gorgeous old vine fruit speak instead of clobbering it over the head with American Oak. Some herbal/liquorice aromas. On palate mellowing black fruits, medium bodied with great length - superb persistence of flavour. At its peak IMO but will probably last for many more years- just becoming more savoury. — 9 years ago
Fantastic. Nice notes of both French and Aussie. — 9 years ago
Classic "big" Aussie notes of prune and Port, but with some interesting secondary aromatics. Minor (if any?) acidification. I dig it, even if I can really only have a glass. — 10 years ago
Yep. Big fruit, tobacco, leather. One of the best Aussie wines I've had. Went really well with short ribs with coffee and chipotle seasoning at The Ranch House in Ojai/Miners Oaks — 10 years ago
Finally seeing a trend among Aussie cabs. They tend to taste like shiraz's, not a bad thing at all. — 10 years ago
😄delicious Aussie drop of Shiraz which we are enjoying with the TWT team at cradle mountain lodge in Tasmania n — 10 years ago
Drinking at its peak. One of the top 3 or 4 Aussie Pinots IMO. Has been great for many years. Obviously a brilliant terroir. 18- — 11 years ago
Showing great for its age. Coffee, mocha, spice and tertiary flavors. A great example of an aged Aussie shiraz. — 11 years ago
Clear rich Crimson in colour. Whiff of wood varnish which blew off. Spicy - not as much pepper as usual. Cherries and supple savoury tannins. Medium bodied. One of my favourite Aussie Reds in the $20 to $30 category. 2nd ranked cuvée to their much vaunted "Langi" Shiraz. Tasted again 54 weeks later with totally consistent notes. Tasted beside Salo Syrah, from the much vaunted Hawkes Bay NZ District for Syrah. I preferred the Langhi. — 8 years ago
I'm loving Aussie Shiraz. Enjoyed with Roaring 40s Bleu Cheese — 9 years ago
2010 vintage - very acceptable Aussie Bordeaux blend — 10 years ago
2012 vintage - current release of an Aussie icon - lean in style - a lovely drink at this age, with better things still to come? — 10 years ago
2009 vintage. Pronounced nose of stone fruits - ripe apricot and peach - cream, wet rock minerality. TDN petrol and diesel notes that are well balanced with the fruit. On the palate, high acidity makes this wine super fresh, concentrated flavours of ripe peach, stone fruits and lime. The finish is sublime - it is lingering and begs another sip. This wine can age for a few years yet. A stunning effort from Egon Muller who makes us realise that dry Aussie Riesling is a style that is consistently superior to anything the Germans, Austrians or Alsatians can produce. When you realise the price, it is also incredible value. — 10 years ago
The democratic winner of our 1995 tasting. Has been my personal Aussie Cabernet for some time. Jancis gave this vintage 19 points. Packed with all the Cabernet descriptors with the trademark Marg River herbaceousness. 19- — 11 years ago
Never run across Pepperjack before - and I've downed a lot of Aussie wines. I may need to keep an eye open for it. — 11 years ago
Somehow manages to be subtle for an untamed Aussie GSM. Amazing. — 9 years ago
Aussie screwcap FTW - this is legit. Plenty of Syrah notes for only 8% of the blend. — 9 years ago
Beautiful Aussie style Riesling. Minerals and stone fruit in tight balance. Fantastic aperitif or with seafood/chicken @Leeuwin_Estate — 9 years ago
Really like this Aussie blend. A bit of musty horse barn on the nose. Smooth, dusty, long finish. Will buy again. Was on sale for $11.99 - great deal. — 9 years ago
First tasted this #NewYearsEve #wine at an Aussie wine seminar at the SWE Conference. Loved it then... Without palate fatigue, love it now!
This Tasmanoise Sparkler is clear to pale gold. The bubble are hyperactive. The mouthfeel is clean and dry white cherry up front with a finishing yellow apple. The finish sinks and and the flavor lingers nicely. The bubbles are a bit aggressive overall.
A great change up from Champagne. I think it's great for the price. Opened 12/31/15 — 9 years ago
great Aussie Shiraz — 10 years ago
2009 vintage - Monster Aussie shiraz - the essence of Barossa in a bottle! — 10 years ago
Delicious aussie shiraz...little to much oak (mostly American new o think) for my taste which overpowers the fruit, but really nice. — 10 years ago
I haven't had much Aussie Cabernet - this one was really nice with soul and depth of flavor — 11 years ago
True Aussie Shiraz in a cooler climate style that I like, great with duck leg — 11 years ago
Fantastic peppery beefy jerky atypical Aussie "Syrah" — 12 years ago

Tastes like a young Aussie Shiraz. Good fruit but not much complexity, lacking secondary notes. Screw cap. Part of a Garagiste mystery case. If I had another bottle I wouldn't open it for a few years. — 8 years ago
