Pow! in your face fucking good! — 7 years ago
Beautifully perfumed with spice and dried flowers and earth. Tannins have mellowed since last bottle a little over a year and a half ago, though still grippy on the sides of the mouth. — 7 years ago
Seriously good food wine. — 8 years ago
Big, dark, layered, delicious with a lot of life left. — 10 years ago
We love it! It's our daily wine, unfortunately we can't always find it so grab a case when you see one. — 11 years ago
Many layers, tannins need to blow off a bit, opens wonderfully — 12 years ago

Aromatic, structured, clean. — 7 years ago
Super dry and earthy. Sucks moisture off your tongue like dirt. Heavy for a winter’s day. Not for food other than a heavy meat. But interesting and quite different in a good way. — 8 years ago
Complex, balanced, bright yet smooth — 9 years ago
Excellent wine. Sangiovese and Sagrantino blend. Very high chewy tannins. Medium acidity. Lots of bkack Sagrantino flavors. Overall delicious. Had it at Osteria Marco in Denver CO. — 10 years ago
Big tannins, more acidity than I was expecting. Opened for a couple of hours, placed next to a big piece of beef and something beautiful happened. — 11 years ago
Quite spectacular, 15 years, alive and kicking, much power, earthy — 11 years ago
Gambero Vinitaly — 12 years ago
Fresh sage and eucalyptus in a glass! Deep ruby with garnet rim. Blackberry, black cherry, forest floor, mushroom, black licorice, black peppercorn, black olives, balsamic oil, sanguine, and chalkiness. High acidity with high chalky tannins, 15% abv, full body. Long savory/sanguine finish. — 5 years ago
Great way to start the wine dinner!!
Wonderful — 6 years ago
Heavy tannic and acidic, more spice/herb dominated style - reminds me more of aglianico than sangiovese. May seem unround now but has potential for decades! — 8 years ago
Spicy on the nose, smooth on the finish. Great tannins. — 8 years ago
Flavors of ripe cherry, leather, plenty of tannins and good finish. Tried it with some chocolate, was actually pretty good. — 9 years ago
Allie H after work with Otavio. Sangiovese blend. Not too fruity. Delish. — 10 years ago
If you don't like Sagrantino you're outside of your mind. — 11 years ago
