One of the best takes on Merlot I’ve had, certainly the best Washington version and my first Long Shadows wine. In a perfect window but this had plenty of stuffing to go another 10. Looked up the winemaker notes and they are spot on: Wonderful intensity of fruit, with a vivid array of black currant, cocoa, violet and smoky aromas that lead to a full-bodied mid-palate marked by ripe blackberry flavors. Rich and complex, yet pure and focused, with supple tannins that provide a silky and prolonged finish.
Really, really good. 😃

Enigmatic as all Véronique Boss-Drouhin's wines are, the 2014 Dundee Hills Pinot Noir boasts freshness and poise in a ripe vintage year. Crushed lavender, cocoa powder, dried mint, underbrush, and an alluring array of red fruits lead into a wine that is medium-bodied and neatly trussed in fine tannins. White pepper and earth emerge at the close. Sample — 8 years ago
A wall of cedar coated in turbinado crystals, sweet tea, vanilla mist, wintergreen and wildflower honey up the two-hole. Really a gorgeous array. Orange blossom honey, pine nut, rock candy, lemongrass, cocoanut, cocoa powder, soft vanilla, sweet tobacco, coffee candy, brickle notes, squash blossom, poppy flower, and the worlds most perfect raisin. As delightfully indulgent as drifting carelessly down a clean river in spring and being enveloped in an endless array of budding flora! — 9 years ago
Strong tempered, dark chocolate, and vanilla beans at the palate. Almost too strong at opening. But it develops beautifully, revealing a complex array of spices and black fruit. Hats off.

Ripe red fruit jumping out of the glass with an array of light herbs and finished with a bright and silky finish. Such a gorgeous wine that I will never forget! — 10 years ago
After a great chat with the sommelier at the Slanted Door, we decided on this small production label. Balanced, complex, and flavorful. Paired well with an array of dishes. — 11 years ago
A very earthy and distinct wine with an array of smoke pepper and dried meats very complex array of dark plum dark cherry and fine herbs very complex array of aromas. A very nuanced and savory wine fresh berry pie like fruit and a zesty fresh finish. Finish 50+. Killer! — 11 years ago
A bit of a sherry like component candied pear fruit with notes of almond and marzipan very creamy and layered in the tongue with a bit of that sherry note through the finish. Still quite lively with layers of fruit fresh acidity. 2007 lemon drop candy almost like a Montrachet with an array of tongue tingly mineral notes with pretty very perfmd and notes of vanilla and still a baby with layers most excellent. 2009 very intense bouquet of aromas with thick lemon drop candy pear jolly rancher — 12 years ago
A crisp and clean Pinot Grigio that exhibits notes of lemon zest, kiwi, and pleasant array of minerality. Finishes smooth and pairs very nicely with lobster ravioli. Also puts Santa Margarita to shame! — 13 years ago
Came out of the gates backward, attacking dry and departing “sweet” almost. Once upright the gorgeous honey kissed citrus/stonefruit, exotic flowers, and array spices and herbs, ginger, tea, aloe. While it’s shed some baby weight, it still has a great interplay of powerful concentration and extract to keep the acid in check. — 8 years ago
06’ Realm Beckstoffer Dr Crane . At 12 years old it still needs a decanting. It truly blossomed after just 15/20 minutes in the decanter.
An array of floral and herbal notes to this. RICH...Blue/black fruits are abundant in this wine. Tobacco, with sweet tannins & a long finish.
A little like yesterday Entre Nous... drink this while still in it’s prime (3/5 years) — 8 years ago
Always and constantly astonishingly amazing and drinkable...Even enjoyably so. Showcasing a vast and complex array of deep, dark fruit and grandpa's cigar box characteristics. With a bass clef preceding notes of black cherries, leather and a smidge of vanilla, and purple flowers and red berries following the treble clef, this Howell Mountain cab packs a punch without hurting anyone. My stomach is jealous of my mouth for getting it first. — 9 years ago

amazing Rhone rosè from @garagiste_wine for $10!Would be a great one at 2x the price. Gorgeous watermelon flesh color, nose of fresh cherries, tomato Vine, strawberry. Great balance of acid and fruit with lingering finish, would pair well with a wide array of summer fare. Blend of 50% Syrah, 21% Cinsault, 18% Grenache , 6 Counoise, 5% Mourvedre. Sad I bought only 1. — 10 years ago

This is one of the most famous premier cru in Beaune with an array of oriental spice, a good amount of ripe red cherry and wild strawberry fruit hints of smoke and fresh earth. An array of exotic spice an array of dried flowers and wonderful balance and complexity with a long finish. Finish 50+ most excellent — 12 years ago
Love where this is, plenty of muscle without the unnecessary sinew that it had in its youth. Despite the array of fruits, herbs, spices, flowers, and earth this had, its most defining feature to me was the stony imprint it had across the palate. Can’t wait to revisit! — 7 years ago
Grabbed another bottle and paired it with Swordfish with a warm corn and tomato sauté relish. Yum! Ruby with aromas of sweet ripe red fruits with an array of herb scents. Grapes blended from four vineyards and aged in French oak (50% new) for 16 months, the palate had flavors of cranbery & wild cherry fruit, with plums and savory currants. The wine had layers of flavors, leather, cacao and earthy tones, nice mouthfeel that lingered to a long finish. Complex, consistent. Very Nice! Perfect now! — 8 years ago
Well balanced, long finish, array of flavors with great acidity, well made and a great expression of this varietal — 8 years ago
Absolutely: Happy Anniversary to us! We don't have a huge array of 2004s (the year we were married), but this Realm cab was a terrific match with the filet mignon I fired up on the grill. Surprisingly, this took about an hour to really open up - went from a good but medium bodied at best wine to a complex, full-bodied cab with a great combination of blue and black fruits coupled with some great older notes of leather and dried currants. Probably not quite at the level of what Juan and the other folks at Realm are doing now (at least based on the scores - out of my price range now)...but it's pretty damn good! — 9 years ago

Just wow. Menthol, ripe cherries, rose petals, clay, dried leaves, nectarine pith, and a huge array of carefully interwoven flavors all come to the party in this expertly crafted wine from rock star producer Raul Perez. A steal at the price. — 10 years ago
Amazing blend of purple and black fruit that's starting to open up to a beautiful array of secondary notes, cured meat and black pepper. Awesome!!!!
Been open for 45 min still needs 30-45 — 10 years ago
The 07 Lytton Springs is blackberry, boysenberry, blueberry, mulberry syrup over pancakes, an easy integrated array of spices with a whiff of white pepper in the forefront. Rich, jammy, juicy and syrupy. Really starting to shine but I'll hold the rest of my bottles another three years for it's perfection. — 11 years ago
Blockbuster! Incredible array of fruits and herbal undertones. Coats your mouth with flavour and then finishes extremely clean, pulling you back in for another glass. Great stuff — 11 years ago

Great development since LBT. Dried, leathery fruit with plenty of juiciness on the palate. Typical Barolo tar and roses backed by an array of spice notes; amaro, sarsaparilla, sandalwood, and juniper. Tannins are melting in nicely. — 6 years ago
