Magnum 1996 Araujo Eisele Estate. Welcome dinner for D fam at RW. Insane!!! We loved, loved, loved this wine. It was absolutely perfect and even better than K thought it could be. Just so soft, feminine, elegant- nothing overt about the wine. Long, long finish. Epic. Need more! — 8 years ago
An American Can classic. Nicely done. Deep purple colour. Hints of chocolate and red berries and currants on the nose nice chocolate flavours and and dark fruit. Well balance - tannins well balanced but quite present - will last another 5 years plus a baby Araujo — 4 years ago
Wheeler Farms was designed and built after Bart & Daphne Araujo sold Araujo to Chateau Latour. They spared no expense building their facilities and make 11 other labels there, including TOR.
This 17 Rosé is their first vintage and is a red blend.
Soft beautiful fruits, lean, watermelon, cherries, raspberries strawberries, peach, light beautiful minerality & spring flowers and pink roses. Beautiful acidity & finish. Nicely done.
Photos of, the small bites prepared for our tasting, their awesome gardens and their reception and tasting room. — 6 years ago
One of the top 10 wines I’ve ever tasted. That includes some Cult wines Harlan, Araujo, Schrader, Scarecrow, Screaming Eagle, Maya, Shafer Hillside, Petrus, all 5 1st French Growths etc. Perfect name BLACK MAGIC. Last Dinner in the Big Island of Hawaii — 6 years ago
Pro nose with wildflowers all over the place. Great fruit and balance. Next to the Araujo this was like your insane nephew that will probably rule the world someday. Thanks again to @S.R.Alexander for the killer company, wine, and food! — 7 years ago
What do you get when you combine a 15 acre vineyard on the Silverado Bench about 200 feet up from the valley floor at the base of Atlas Peak owned by a former math professor with a team of winemaker Dave Phinney (of Orin Swift, GKG, Stanton) and viticulturalist Steve Matthiasson (Araujo, Chappellet, David Arthur, and Spottswoode to name a few)? Aftermath. I'm not sure if the name was ominous or fortuitous, but Jim Kaplan's first vintage was 2011, which was notoriously difficult. His 2012 vintage was completely lost to the 2014 earthquake. The result is indeed the aftermath...
The 2013 is a blueberry, blackberry, and blackcurrant explosion, with the fallout being licorice, white flowers, cedar, and cacao nips, with enough of an herbaceous tilt to give an exotic edge. Fans of Phinney's Papillon and Mercury Head, and frankly Napa Cabs in general should seek this out. — 7 years ago
16’ Wheeler Farms Sauvignon Blanc. Give it about 10 minutes to warm up in the glass.
Small amount of tropical fruits, predominately stone-citrusy fruits, with the right amount of acid. Love it! “Araujo Family”- making this beautiful SB! Working with some sushi👍 — 6 years ago
Magnum 1999 Harlan Estate. Welcome dinner for D fam at RW. Drank this after the '96 Araujo Eisele out of magnum. Unfortunately, this bottle was not stored properly and just didn't drink great. Unanimous that Araujo hit it out of the park and that this wine was not what it should have been. It was hot, lacked dimension, and the finish was abrupt and harsh. It should have been great, as we have been enjoying other '99s at this time, but not this bottle. — 8 years ago

Bart & Daphne Araujo sold out but have now started Wheeler Farms. An outstanding wine and a great tasting experience at their winery. Not Araujo yet but this is a big lush Cabernet that will continue to evolve. 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 4 years ago
