One of absolute favorite wines right now. The Granache is blended beautifully with Syrah and Mourvèdre to bring out the absolute best of each - dark fruit but not too sweet, dried raspberry and slight spice... aroma is out of this world, eyes rolling-back in your head bouquet leads to complex and balanced on the tongue with smooth tannins without losing body, and a beautiful, supple finish. 2005 vintage on De 20, 2017 at Sun River, OR with skillet roasted lemon chicken (Ina Garten). Tasted alongside a 1999 Raptor Ridge Shea Vineyard to compare and contrast. Elegant and mature C-d-Pape at the peak of its life. Fully developed with a lot of great life left but also no need to wait to drink. This why we love C-d-Pape.
