This was my first “Aha” wine and is still one of the most unique Syrahs I’ve ever had. — 7 years ago
Great Brut. Fresh, light with the aha aftertaste.

Aha. Found a dry Rose that I really like. Finally. Crisp and fresh, nice minerals, almost like a German Riesling. This is a winner. Rating affirmed 9/18/16. — 10 years ago

Our last Cherry Pie from a discovery a few years back. Still delivers that initial aha memory. Bold strawberry, with barnyard undertones. — 10 years ago
Aha! Sing me a song of six pence! An amazing show of beauty and grace. Well liked by all with firm chewy tannins. This could have gone for another 5 - 10. Yum, sad to see you go, glad to have more space.. — 11 years ago
I rated this 10, because I honestly can't imagine how it gets any better than this. This wine is awesome, totally kickass. It has everything you'd expect in a very old Barolo, yet has life and fruit and vibrancy. Amazingly, it has years to go and is still getting better. A huge aha experience. — 11 years ago
I guess this is still a baby, but we are sitting here planning our Italy trip for this summer and I have to open something!
This is just starting to turn orange on the rim-- which to me is amazing to me, a 07 brunello would be garnet throughout by now. On the nose I get licorice and other roots, and white pepper with mild cedar. Nothing about this is fruity or Rosy.
On the palate... There isn't a ton going on (hence the 50 dollar price maybe?). The licorice and spice persists but this doesn't lead to an aha moment. This tannins are big and bold for a 2007. Perhaps even massive. So not being an expert on Barolo at the present time, Im not sure if it will improve. My hunch is No.

During Wine Appreciation in my college years this was one of the “aha!” wines I tried during the sensory analysis labs we would take. I just remember tasting this and thinking, “I had no idea a wine could be this rich and dense.” The mouth-drying sensation of the tannins was also a very appealing and intriguing characteristic that I fell in love with.

Perfumed with cocoa, molasses, dried raisins and cherries, and sweet tobacco. What a delicious wine. — 7 years ago

Consistent 3 bottles in. You ever have an aha moment. This is it! — 9 years ago
How did I get this lucky? An "aha" wine for California, I am always overwhelmed and grateful to drink such a special wine, especially with the man who crafted it. Plush tannins so soft I'd like to take a nap in them and rich, forest floor that someone was kind enough to sprinkle with raspberries and plums. — 9 years ago
In Kumamoto, after the AHA instructors' meeting, old faces gathered at a wine bar that I don't remember. Full body with a good flavor of oak. — 10 years ago
F. Me! This was an aha wine for us. Dirty elegant, heartbreaking he is no longer with us. — 11 years ago

My aha wine. Love anything out of Red Mountain and this guy delivers on that note. Flush with red and black fruit. That distinctive taste that can’t put into words, but you know it when you taste it. It just says Red Mountain. — 6 years ago
