George III is my least favorite vineyard from the Grand Cru Beckstoffer site however, @Mike Smith has done a magnificent job with this offering and changes all that. 2 hour decant and the tannins are supporting the wine and nearly not in play. I can’t get over the balance of this wine...fruit, acid and tannins are in perfect harmony. Nice offering! — 7 years ago
Obsessed. Very easy to drink. Not too dry. Very fruity in a dark way — 8 years ago
Marketing genius Charles Smith offers a superb Cabernet value. Made with wild yeasts and aged on its lees, this juicy, pliant wine displays lively aromas of black raspberry, licorice, flowers, espresso and mint. The lightly saline palate delivers striking complexity for the price. (ST) — 8 years ago
Probably needed more air but we were on a roll! @Mike Smith is the man. Wish our entire cellar was full of his wine! — 9 years ago
With a wine maker that looks like Sammy Hagar how can you go wrong, crisp apple chard from Washington — 12 years ago
Does it get better from @Mike Smith? Decanted 12 hours ahead of dinner and this baby was still wound for sound. I missed the boat on the 2012, and (sadly) only ordered one 2013 on release. Big, earthy nose gave way to beautiful dark fruit, espresso, and spice. A pinnacle expression of the site, and I certainly look forward to babying the bottles I have from subsequent vintages. — 6 years ago
A replacement for the Pairing as a Marry Edwards regular bottle. Definitely sharper and less pronounced stone fruit, but nicely balanced and went well with all dinner courses. Bottles went too fast to see how they opened, so questionable still as a stand-alone (probably great); high marks for elevating the usual crisp white wine dishes. — 6 years ago
Smooth velvety drinking wine. Perfect for a pasta and red sauce dish with red meat or pork. — 7 years ago
Such a delicious rose!! Washington state wines are some of my favorite! — 8 years ago
@Mike Smith @Leah Smith thank you is all I can say! From a mag... — 8 years ago
Wonderful ... Ready to drink with no aeration needed ... Nose of mixed cherry and black fruits is not shy ... Palate of darker fruits with cocoa undertones. SLH is a great Pinot appellation! — 9 years ago
Nice, dry and a little Sweet. Drank with sushi. — 9 years ago
Great tannin structure, alcohol content compliments it well, beautiful color: nothing inky, great mountain fruit: deep with a long finish. — 12 years ago
Each of the varietals is present like the uncomfortable, yet reassuring experience of a class reunion. Together, you’re the Class of 86. — 6 years ago
Delightful little wine. In retrospect, should have waited for a few years before opening it. Recommend decanting it. — 6 years ago
Ali Story, of Smith-Story Wines, was in town and did a nice tasting at Classic today. A pleasure to meet and very unique and enjoyable wines.
This is an elegant style Pinot...lots of brambly notes, kirsch, and cedar bark. All red and black fruits here. Ali said that the barrels this pinot is done in comes from Russell Bevan. Quite the opposite style! — 7 years ago
I just love everything Myriad puts out. Plush fruit, balanced acidity, and a long finish. Bravo, @Mike Smith. — 8 years ago
Very nice Riesling; soft lime nose, peach, pear flavors with a mineral finish... — 9 years ago
Pretty medium garnet color, vibrant acidity and bright fresh berry character. No jamminess or white pepper here, just delicious fruit and 12.5% abv. Seductive in its appeal. Well judged oak that never intrudes on the fruit. Dekicious and a benchmark in cool climate shiraz — 9 years ago
Brakefast in a beer. I wont dare to describe not to offend conosieurs? Just that I like dark beers just as much and this is the best Ive ever had. — 10 years ago
Lots of zip. Floral, lemon peel, just a hint of petrol. Could age for a long time. 12.5% and bone dry. Really great. — 11 years ago

One of my all time favorites under $35 and still the only wine I buy by the case. The 2016 vintage sticks to the classic MCK and Washington Syrah notes but turn the black pepper level way up. Never tasted so much black pepper in a wine. Fantastic — 5 years ago
