Bright, clean and vibrant nose of bees wax, apricot, sage and white flowers. Racy acidity with a refreshing mouth full of grapefruit, lemon balm, and nectarines. The zippy finish is laden with wet stone, citrus zest and white pepper. — 8 years ago
Ali Story, of Smith-Story Wines, was in town and did a nice tasting at Classic today. A pleasure to meet and very unique and enjoyable wines.
This is an elegant style Pinot...lots of brambly notes, kirsch, and cedar bark. All red and black fruits here. Ali said that the barrels this pinot is done in comes from Russell Bevan. Quite the opposite style! — 8 years ago
Obsessed. Very easy to drink. Not too dry. Very fruity in a dark way — 8 years ago
@Mike Smith @Leah Smith thank you is all I can say! From a mag... — 9 years ago
Pretty medium garnet color, vibrant acidity and bright fresh berry character. No jamminess or white pepper here, just delicious fruit and 12.5% abv. Seductive in its appeal. Well judged oak that never intrudes on the fruit. Dekicious and a benchmark in cool climate shiraz — 10 years ago
With a wine maker that looks like Sammy Hagar how can you go wrong, crisp apple chard from Washington — 13 years ago
Beautiful Biodynamic estate with a hidden cellar straight out of a James Bond flick. From their selection of young vines. And ahhhhhhhhhbbb the stony floral Sauv Blanc gives the wine lift and air, the wings, while the secret engine of Semillon provides a deep counterbalance, a waxy rudder guiding the whole contraption smoothly thru the air. Day two: even more aerodynamically pure. Drink then. — 6 years ago
Each of the varietals is present like the uncomfortable, yet reassuring experience of a class reunion. Together, you’re the Class of 86. — 7 years ago
A replacement for the Pairing as a Marry Edwards regular bottle. Definitely sharper and less pronounced stone fruit, but nicely balanced and went well with all dinner courses. Bottles went too fast to see how they opened, so questionable still as a stand-alone (probably great); high marks for elevating the usual crisp white wine dishes. — 7 years ago
Smooth velvety drinking wine. Perfect for a pasta and red sauce dish with red meat or pork. — 8 years ago
Such a delicious rose!! Washington state wines are some of my favorite! — 8 years ago
6-hour decant. Deep purple color. Blackberry and raspberry cobbler, graphite, cassis, cocoa powder. Round tannins even at this early age. A finish that goes on forever. One of the best cabernets I've ever had. Well done, @Mike Smith. — 9 years ago

Wonderful ... Ready to drink with no aeration needed ... Nose of mixed cherry and black fruits is not shy ... Palate of darker fruits with cocoa undertones. SLH is a great Pinot appellation! — 9 years ago
Brakefast in a beer. I wont dare to describe not to offend conosieurs? Just that I like dark beers just as much and this is the best Ive ever had. — 11 years ago
A dense glass-staining purple, the '06 Charles Smith Syrah 'Royal City' is a monumental wine. Big, pungent aromas of game, truffles, black olives and dried fruits exploded from the glass. Complex, but still seamlessly balanced. The tastes stayed on the palate for a seemingly infinite length of time. Simply wonderful! — 12 years ago
One of my favorite small production wine, 300 cases. Cal Nicholson spent his youth in So. CA & after a long marketing career he hung up his spurs to follow his 2 real interests in life – surfing & wine making. Jones is the maiden name of Cal’s wife Pam. A wonderful wine. Aromas of lemon citrus with herb, stone & tropical fruits. Palate, peach, Granny Smith apple & ripe melon flavors with lively citrus zest wrapped in lbalanced acidity. Lingering finish ending with mineral citrus finish. Consistent! Nice! — 6 years ago
Delightful little wine. In retrospect, should have waited for a few years before opening it. Recommend decanting it. — 7 years ago
Really enjoyed this £120 Pessac as the fruit was alive & kicking w/ a ton of flavour & aroma showing the true characteristics of the region 👍

I just love everything Myriad puts out. Plush fruit, balanced acidity, and a long finish. Bravo, @Mike Smith. — 9 years ago
Marketing genius Charles Smith offers a superb Cabernet value. Made with wild yeasts and aged on its lees, this juicy, pliant wine displays lively aromas of black raspberry, licorice, flowers, espresso and mint. The lightly saline palate delivers striking complexity for the price. (ST) — 9 years ago
