Deep notes of raspberry, blackberry and plum with leather. Wonderful warm finish that is balanced and fruitful. — 8 years ago
Our monthly 4th Friday event at the storage facility. No requirements, just wine you want to share with others! Always an enjoyable time.
Special place in my heart for this winery. A few months ago, I had an '88 go celebrate my birth year. It was STELLAR. This is pushing forward easily...after an hour of air, the fruit and secondary earth and funk notes came out. So good! Thanks Walter! — 9 years ago

Smells and tastes like peaches. Dry and flavorful. Good acidity. Well balanced. — 10 years ago
Kano, you are such a tough grader! It's '88 La Mish, and it was the first thing I'd ever tasted after becoming a new home owner. Absolutely delicious, amongst the sweetest nectar I'd ever enjoyed in my life! Far from perfect, but pretty close to one of the finest gifts life can offer. Thank you! — 10 years ago
Wow. Delicious. Much richer and new world in style than the 88 which was tasted in conjunction. — 12 years ago

Beautiful! Quite different than the '88 and '89. Not as heavy and unctuous. Very light, great acidity with the perfect amount of sweetness. Had en magnum. — 13 years ago
This little joe I had when I was faded, it tastes good but would be better with steak & potatoes... ya boiiii is faded — 7 years ago
Today was my first time to host Wednesday Wine Committee. I’ve had the good fortune of attending on and off over the last two years and was delighted to finally host a lunch. As many of the wines I brought today I’ve posted on here before, I’m posting the white wine of the day and the red wine of the day. As always, the format of 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine was in play and everything was tasted blind.
As my 30th birthday approaches next week, I wanted to bring a bottle of something special, so I decided on a birth year wine as a small early birthday celebration. Absolutely shocked at the color...was as dark as an ‘07 Farella that was next to it! Acidity, fruit and finish were all insane for the age. Barnyard funk blew off easily and revealed bing cherry, dates, currant and a killer herbal acidic finish. Tannins are still providing nice structure here. ‘88 wasn’t a great Napa vintage, but this just goes to show you how quality producers churn out age worthy wines regardless of vintage. A real treat. Credit to @Mark Flesher for helping me get this! — 8 years ago

Suprised by how much I liked it. Excellent. — 9 years ago
Super rich. Spends a full extra year in barrel. Semillon and SB. The nose is perfumed with honeysuckle, orange blossom, crystallized honey, and apricot. The palate is dense with mandarin, beeswax, roasted nuts, dried apricot, Meyer lemon, and some petrol. Really nice. — 9 years ago
Smooth. Drank at BP. $88 — 10 years ago
One of my favorite Grenache wines this year. — 11 years ago
Crisp, clean, just enough oak taste. Smooth, clean. Very enjoyable. — 11 years ago
My favorite from a vertical of 86, 88, 93, 95, 97 from Mag, 02 and 04. Personality in spades. — 12 years ago
Good dessert wine! — 14 years ago
Smooth with hints of caramel, coffee and oak — 7 years ago
Wonderful evening at the City Club courtesy of Jeff’s hosting at the Friday group. Cellar guessing Jeff is a dangerous game as he’s the type who plans to throw curveballs! All wines served blind.
Ageless. Based on color, I immediately thought Napa but the palate had me second guessing. Some rose petal, spice and tart cherry. Cedar. This tastes so much younger than the ‘88 I opened a few months back. Wonderful wines. — 8 years ago
From the wine list at EMP bought by a new friend at the table next to us to go mano a mano against the 88 La Turque I shared. Slightly darker red and more pure in color. Amazing aroma that is more linear than the animalistic La La but in the same league. Hit its stride right out of the pop and pour gate. Lovely perfume with a more briary nose but speaks Cote Rotie from the get go. Perfectly integrated fruit and structure. Best Jamet I've had. Thanks to Danny for this treat. — 9 years ago
Imagine biting into a juicy, ripe, liqueur-soaked peach-tangerine hybrid. #Burgenland #austrianwine — 10 years ago
Excellent white blend from Arietta, with what is probably the right amount of age. Amber in the glass, deep and mouth filling, fat, but not oaky. Very nice. — 10 years ago
1990: Corked, unfortunately. My mom had the best line, "It sure tastes better than it smells!" I recall what it was like on release, hard candy sweetness with a surprisingly light framework, particularly compared to both the '88 & '89 on release, and the crazy depth of the'90 Ch. Filholt Creme de tete, which was massively concentrated. This bottle still had oomph, yet wasn't all there. — 11 years ago
Line up of Dom Ruinart BDB Mags: 88, 90, 93. All worthy- 90 So powerful/balanced and slightly more tropical. — 12 years ago
