An Aussie Riesling that I, a Canadian Riesling “freak,” can happily knock back. Too bad we couldn’t arrange an on-the-spot tasting at the winery the other day. — 8 years ago

Started in 1972 with a simple philosophy - to focus production on only one varietal, Cabernet Sauvignon. A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot & 0.5% Malbec. Dark opaque Ruby with aromas of red fruits, oak, sweet herbs and spice. On the palate raspberry and blackberry flavors with notes of cacao and espresso. Fine dusty tannins, satisfying acidity on lingering smooth finish ending with sweet oak tones. Nice! — 9 years ago

Deep purplish ruby red. A bit of heat on the nose with dark berries. Moderate plus tannins (7.5/10) and medium plus bodied. More integrated on the palate than the Clone 6. Solid dark berries, black cherries and a little black fruits on the palate. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2028. — 10 years ago
Zingy lemon dry sweetness at the front, buttered roll at the end. This is a stellar wine. Iconic bottling from an iconic producer. — 10 years ago
Pretty good... Not too overpowering, so would go well with a variety of foods. Really like that the vineyard uses sustainable practices also! — 11 years ago

Magnum 1982 Pichon Longueville Contesse de Lalande. First time any of us had tried this. July 4 group dinner at Bouch (A&S, J&D B, McC). Loved this. Decanted and served pretty quickly. — 8 years ago
Very good! Paired this with bison meatballs (fresh parsley, garlic powder, pepper, onion powder) ... baked 3/4 and then simmered in marinara over whole wheat spaghetti. Awesome dinner. — 9 years ago

Wine from Gran Canaria's "badlands" -- violets, juicy juice, nice kick at the end. Can do with a slight chill below cellar and even more stellar with food from the grill. — 11 years ago
Fruity start with a dry finish. Delicious! I'd buy again for $18! — 11 years ago
