Rich, sappy, concentrated, fleshy, full bodied, expressive, and hedonistic with notions of dark fruit, chocolate, bacon, graphite, and wood smoke. Finishes long and saturating but smooth, showing no hard edges over the ~3 hours this bottle was consumed. A blend of 49% grenache, 25% carignan, 16% syrah, and 10% cabernet sauvignon. Drinkable now but has many more years left in it.... — 6 years ago
Shafer TD-9 2015. This is a blend of merlot, cabernet, and malbec (56/28/16) and I love it! This is big and jammy like a good merlot should be. The color is moderately dark. The bouquet is blueberry preserves. The initial palate is black currant and blackberries ripe off the vine. The mid palate is oaky slowly opening into a vanilla and buttery dry finish. Just delicious!!!! A bit pricy at 65 dollars a bottle, but Ill buy it again hands down. This is a fantastic bottle of wine. If I could afford it Id buy a case. — 8 years ago
What a wine!!! Mayacamas fruit, at 2640 elevation. 275 case offering. Poured a purple color in the glass with a dense youthful blackberry pie nose. The entry shows youthful chalkiness. Dense and thick. Beautiful now, expressing rather early on the palate but probably more of my kind of wine in a couple of years when this wine integrates a bit more. Finishes with lighter black pepper (provoked with pot roast). Youthful oak barrel tannin. QUITE enjoyable. QPR is quite nice as I don't think this one was north of 50 bucks. — 8 years ago

Monstrous 16%. Great quality for the price. — 9 years ago
Very clean and well balanced cab, but lacks a little complexity near the end, great wine aroma, and sweet in the finish, beautiful rich red color — 9 years ago
Another awesome experience. Taken from notes after long 16 days in Australia. Good structure great body and still had tannins. Very impressive! — 11 years ago
Dark plum color. Uninteresting nose. Plum flavors. Sweet, but not cloying. Light balanced tannins and acidity. Full flavor without being heavy. Very easy to drink. I really like this wine. — 11 years ago
K: I LOVE Mollydooker wines. The fruit is always supremely extracted, the mouthfeel is soft, fine and luscious- and the 2016 “Maitre D” Cabernet is nooooo exception. The ‘16’s to begin with were awesome in Australia and, from what I have had, resplendent across the board. The deep nose of this one opens up to, frankly; an explosion of fruit on the palate. The tannins are so beautifully chewy, and reveal a mid-palate that is packed with a rich and exuberant set of currant, cassis- and a velvety texture that leads gracefully to a long and juicy finish. See: 2016- good downunda. — 5 years ago
Nicely balanced....16% notwithstanding. Very enjoyable for a blowy fall evening. — 7 years ago

The 2006 Rusty Shed Chardonnay is a blend of four blocks of Chardonnay on the Flat Rock Property. Grapes are hand picked and hand sorted before whole bunch pressing takes place. It was then cold settled in stainless steel, 100% barrel fermented and left on the lees for 10 months. Wild and commercial yeasts were used for primary fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation to soften the natural acidity. The result?
Beautiful example of a mid to full bodied Chardonnay with butter, vanilla, apples and light spice on the palate. A lot of flavour and elegance at this price point. Sampled this 2006 in 2017 but this should sit well and perhaps develop more for a few more years. Best part? It's from Niagara! Loved it!

Still has nice tart blackberries and great tannin structure 16 years on. — 9 years ago
4 hour decant: rich, deep nose of blackberry preserves, dark chocolate, tobacco, and fresh mint. Seductive on the palate, with dark fruits and black licorice. Just enough acidity to have a sense of balance, but definitely is a Aussie Shiraz. Finish lingers with excellent length. 16% ABV on the label, could be up to 17.5% by law. — 9 years ago
Translucid ruby color. Nose of red berries, spices, earth with a leafy / tree scent. On the palate, nice fruit profile, small earthy and mineral bitterness, good acidity and fresh, spicy finish. French style Pinot. Very good (90)
Made of Pinot Noir coming from 15 different parcels from Flat Rock vineyards. Aged for about 8 months in oak barrels. Alcohol level of 12,5% — 10 years ago

16 years and held up well. Smoother now then when I first remember trying to the 2003. Blackberry hint with a licorice finish. Enjoyed with friends for relaxing after Christmas evening. — 5 years ago

GW tasting 9/28/16. Magnum. Nose with less fruit and more oxidative sherry notes that are pleasant. Palate that's very balanced with acids and minerals. Looking complex finish. Excellent. Color that's a bit brownish. — 9 years ago
big fruit forward style but balanced. Be interesting to age. Bought a bottle. Private JL tasting 7/14/16. $61. Decanter rated different vineyard as best in world. Nah! ChromeRack6-R2 inner. — 9 years ago
Has held up quite nicely considering sir Parker's initial 86 rating. Great earthiness, black fruit, tobacco and spice and completely smooth and lacking any tannins whatsoever. Was go time 5 years ago but still held up quite nicely - Carl's place 06-02-16 — 9 years ago
