From the winery:
“Our Estate produced Teroldego is a rarely grown grape in the U.S. originating from the Northern Italian Tyrolean area of Trentino-Alto Adige. This big and rich inky dark red wine is lively, exhibits fruity intriguing flavors of dark berry, aromatic wood spice with a finish of structured tannins and bright acidity. Vinified and fermented in techniques similar to our Syrah this Teroldego is aged in 25% new American oak. The alcohol content is 14.2%. “ $36.00 I tasted the 2014 and it was a big & rich wine, excellent after cellaring 7 years.

Dark and purple, bright purple/red rim. Jam, black tea and sourdough bread nose, not terribly aromatic. Acidic, earthy, light tannin and deep cooked fruit (prune, red berry) in the mouth, subtle and dark, more European in style vs many wines we tasted in the central coast
