Rancho Chimiles Valdiguié

Completely new varietal to me.

Took 2 hours to open up. Light and fruity

Medium garnet. Med body, low tannin, med acid, off dry. Reminiscent of gamay. Floral, red fruit on nose. Taste of red fruit, some graphite, grapefruits, underripe blueberry. Good, but don’t need to seek out.

Good nose, bland flavor.

Had turned to vinegar in the bottle. Second time in a year I picked it up because I like Valdiguie, but it had gone bad both times. Either the 2017 had a lot of bottles go bad, or I have very bad luck.
