A 70/30 blend of Chardonnay from limestone & Pinot Blanc from sandy soils, spontaneously fermented in large (used) wood & aged on the lees for 16 months. Unfiltered & unfined.
This is slightly cloudy & clearly flirts with the natural / orange wine style.
Nicely aromatic with toasted sesame seeds & fresh herbs with faint fruity (tangerine peel, green apples) notes in the background.
On the palate this has great presence with a nice, slightly toasty character, brilliant freshness & vibrant appley, lemony acidity and healthy dose of fresh herbs. There’s a touch of tannins, too.
This is quite complex, delicious & highly drinkable (with only 12% alc).
Love it!
