Scharzhofberg Mosel Kabinett Riesling
Mosel, Germany
2011v. Aromatic nose of ripe yellow fruit (apples, pear), rubber cement and petrol, and a little dried cinnamon spice. Lots of flavor on the palette too: a quick hit of sweetness, then pronounced yellow fruit tropical fruit--ripe mango and pineapple. It's almost like there's a slight bit of oak hanging on those fruit flavors. Petrol lingers on the finish. In terms of body, it has a little weight and waxiness in mouth. Acid is balanced with the other attributes of the wine. At $9 on sale, the QPR is off the charts. A fantastic everyday white wine.
