Sublime traditional red Rioja. Textbook American new oak: sweet vanila, coconut, cinnamon. Heady aroma of violet. Slight Brett not in a bad way at all. Licorice/anise and clove. Desiccated strawberry, cranberry, and dark cherries. Beautiful ruby with orange rim. Medium plus concentration and staining.

Good medium dry, red berry (strawberry preserves, raspberries, cherries) and sweet spice forward wine (clove, cinnamon, nutmeg) with pronounced intensity, light acidity, whose alcohol balances its tannins. Red berry aromas lead into sweet spice, meat, and toasted oak flavors, giving a long finish. Can age further.
