Fiano di Avellino

2017 resolution: drink more Italian whites. Nose was restrained tropical fruits, slightly buttery with nice salinity on the back end. Good. Night 2: better, richer, rounder.

Solid producer, solid Fiano. A bit more buttery than I expected, but the salty finish balances it out nicely.

Subtle honeydew melon, gardenias, bitter almond flowers, pistachios. Vibrant rounded acid, oily rich texture, medium bodied, briny-salty floral finish. Mineral-texture driven, food friendly finish. Structure driven which makes it easy to overlook and under appreciate its unique texture. Much like a Rhone white.
