Black cherry color; coats the glass nicely, but overall medium bodied. Smells spicy and hints of oak and vanilla. A bit tart to the taste (may need to decant a bit); Pretty well balanced; lots of tannins; drier with a medium finish. After decanting a bit, it mellows out and more dark fruit flavored emerge, such as blackberries and chocolate covered black cherries. Needs to be paired with a flavorful steak with good marbling or a red pasta sauce with some bold ingredients.
