smoky with nice violets white pepper and oak spice. bit too much of the latter for, but supposedly Spielberg adores it. 🤔

minty, smoky meat. Bacon fat, peppermint, chocolate. Very powerful but also graceful. An iron fist in a velvet glove. Fullish, tannic, 13.5. French oak, small barrel (moved to 5000l in 2014) for 18 months. Name from Johns experience at Jaboulet in Rhone. A lot of grip. Lightly charred, tarry.

Savory, salty meat on the nose. Dense, soft, comfortable tannin, dark ripe fruit, peppery, floral, good acidity. Good chewy texture, complex, long finish. 2010

2009 vintage. First glass of alcohol since almost bleeding to death last week with stomach lesion! Bit disappointing on opening. Very primary fruit and leather. Black fruited plums. Not much depth here and slight bitter finish that is medium length at best. What am I missing? Re-tried the wine after 5 days under vacuum system. Much better! The wine had lost some of the bitter edge and was drinking quite well! NB: what a ridiculously overweight bottle they have chosen - it weighs a ton!
