Corte Pavone Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

Cherries, cedar, toasted oak. Big tannins but balanced by nice acidity.

Nice wine. Opened up the 2010 vintage and after 4 hr decant it started hitting its stride. This wine needs another 3-5 years. Robust with hints of cherry and mushrooms. Will be a great wine in time.

First taste: licorice, candied red fruits, cigar box, and a touch of citrus. Not smokey or earthy although some forest floor notes which should open up into a nice earthiness.

One of the thicker, more intense Brunellos I've had. Nice smokey tobacco, earthiness, candied dark fruits. A splendid execution of Sangiovese.

WTSO. bought for $40. Very, very good wine at that price. Starts fruit forward but quickly changes to a tart wine with warm tannins. Warm feeling in your belly
