Selezione Antonio Castagnedi Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend

An Amarone I can get behind. Not as massive as many. Despite its 11 years, the nose shows beautiful fruit, rich but not too pruney. Secondary notes of mahogany and leather. In the mouth, it’s got loads of port-like flavor in a full but not blowsey way. Ends long and dry. Still got some tannin, but it’s soft and well integrated. Nice job.

Blackberry and chocolate. A lovely finish...a must have!

Belle découverte. Moins puissant que l'Amarone traditionnel. 2 ans fut de chêne.

Like a good Ripasso. Developed and lost the rough finish after an hour.

Black cherry, licorice, and chocolate with a velvety finish! Delicious!

Best Italian I've had in a while.
