Sep 8th, 2016Dark ruby color with intriguing aromas that are at once both pungent and sweet with intermingled bacon fat, red fruits, black pepper, olive tapenade, and a hint of bittersweet chocolate. On the palate it's very smooth, well balanced and fresh with juicy dark cherry, strawberry, warm flavors with a spicy mineral laden finish. Blend of Blend of 52% Syrah,29% Grenache,18% Mourvedre and 1% Counoise 13.7% alcohol. Great value at $20

Nov 8th, 2014One would expect lots of fruit on this wine. Just because it comes from Paso Robles. There is a nice earthy funk on the nose, followed by a dark berry, dark spice, and orange rind palate. The finish is a long pleasurable experience. Starting with the dark fruit and morphing into spice and a hint of dark earth. Left it open for 48 hours and it still held distinctive flavors. Really fun blend. Great with chicken cordon blue or pizza.

I loved visiting this winery over the summer. Happy to see this at Trader Joes in Napa.

Strong QPR, fascinated study to see an entry level offering from Tablas Creek aged 13 years. Time has taken the fruit farther back from the palate, featuring meaty and stewed fruit up front, sweet tobacco mid-palate and vanishing tannins on the finish. #pasorobles
