Lunch wine #2 - perfect with a slight chill on it, letting strawberry and smoky earth, dried herbs, flowers, and licorice swirl refreshingly on the palate. The “Fausoni” comes from 40-year-old vines. This wine is in prime drinking shape but would easily last and probably improve for another decade I think.

Needs a few minutes to open up and then shows the beautiful cherry freshness, with darker hint of tar, smoke, black rock but also some wilted flowers and shy hint of orange peel. Evolves & develops in the glass.
Firm tannic frame, quite solid yet juicy & fresh. Lighter on the fruit, with fresh acidity. A touch austere perhaps but so nice.
