After almost 10 years this wine has finally matured into a lovely state. The once overwhelming tannic grip has soften and is now a silky presence. The fruit is still there but muted and more in the background and thinner less concentrate. Had this tonight with beef short ribs it was perfect cutting through the fat of the ribs. Maybe it's just me but the alcohol is very apparent while the finish lingers pleasantly with the now soft tannins.
