My Irish father would have remarked that this wine had a good “head.” It does pore like beer . It’s bone dry and probably was so in 2008. Not much fruit. Lots of yeast, forest floor and tiny-tiny bubbles. I’m not sure aging helped wine this dry to begin with. Drink now.

4.5 g/l RS, bottle-aged 5 yrs on the lees, drinking absolutely beautiful right now. Really well-balanced with sharp acidity up front (grapefruit, lemons), with toasted notes on the finish. It tastes almost like a grapefruit vanilla pie if there were such a thing

Yeast/brioche, with green apple and some peach. Refreshingly dry and not overly tart like some others from Schramsberg. Paired great with chicken and waffles for brunch.

Toasted brioche, green apple, a touch of peach on the nose; some wet rocks and salinity too. Palette has bright and lively acid with a medium finish. Pleasant and well balanced at this age. Delicious.
